I am sure you have answered this question a million times, but I need to find out what kind of snorkle will rig up to a 1978 Chevy pick-up.

Make your own out of whatever you have on hand, or get an ARB one meant for an FJ80. They match up pretty well.

not a great pic.. was gettin ready to rain like hell...

Now I have to fab up a bracket to pull the top to near the windshield.. they gave one bit it is like 2" and I need one at least 4"

cost $300 to my door...

I just dont know what breather to use to hook it to.. I have a holley truck avenger carb so my factory breather doesnt fit too well.. well at least not air tight...
also has the down vent that used to goto the exhaust for heat....

I've always wanted to do this also. Here's some good threads that I found.

the ARB one is cool... but $300 is a little steep for something you can make yourself for less than $50...

I was supposed to post some pics of the aircleaner housing that I built for my snorkle for somebody. I'll try to get to that. Sorry to whom ever it was.

what kind of plenum is this? the website says.. factory plenum??? may be bad as I would need to add one of those big air boxes under the hood to have a filter..guess I will just cut my factory breather...

duhh what a dip I am.... it says.. dodge magnum on it.. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

It could be a dodge. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif smart az!! /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

It sticks up that high, eh? Is the top removable? I know if I took it in the woods I'd tear it off. I have a hard enough time keeping my gutters from getting torn off.

Looks much better than Home Depot though. haha.

OK, here is the housing I built to go on the carb. Sealable, holds a 14" air element with 1" space all the way around outside that. Will hold anything smaller in diameter but it has to be 4" tall. I've yet to fab up the tube to go up the a pillar but I don't see that being very hard to do. The hard part for me is getting it out the hood with the tilt front end.

Looks nice!/forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

So the air filter is tight to the base and lid? Or are the pampers wipes the key? /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

I knew it wouldn't take long to get a comment on the pampers wipes. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
