Snorkle

"Thumper", one of our long time members, built himself a skookum snorkel. The only problem is that he doesn't come around all that often. You might try searching the user list alphabetically and see is you can find his e-mail and get ahold of him that way..............

Hope this helps!!!!

look under project blazers on the site, one of them has an ARB snorkel that looks good. It's the green blazer with a 4in lift and 35"s that was totally redone.

K5 just upgraded to rig status!

Im here, thanks for the ref. I built my snorkel from 3" pvc pipe grafted onto the end of the stock air cleaner. You can check out the pics at my site.

I removed my quote so gay, vegetarian, minority, eco-nazis who love Jesus, nuke spotted owls, vote Gore and smoke medical marijuana won't be offend.

Why do you need it? Do you really want to subject your truck to such deep water? I hate driving in deep water, always gives me the creeps! I find myself having to do it though.

Well, its there as a safety buffer. I ran a mud bog race 3 yrs ago, and trashed the engine through my open element air cleaner. I havent been in water over the headlights since then, but I am very secure in knowing that if it happens, the air intake isnt something I have to worry about. For the price of $40.00 (probably the same price in Can or US $) I had to have one.

the aussies designed the snorkel primarily for desert running, higher intake = less polluted air.
i bought the arb snorkel for cold air intake(cold air mixes better with fuel than hot air, hence better mpg and a few xtra horses) and deep water fording ability, and LOOKS! expensive, yes. would i do it again, yes. less expensive alternative is pvc.
good luck,

That's true, colder air = denser = mix with more fuel = more HP.
