if possible info on said item unless its super common .

if snow is not your thing fine we get it just look and stay warm .

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

to start this new pic thread i will post up my new to me find today .

early DIAMOND V-plow from way back in the day . its fairly solid still just needs some maintenance and paint and rams .

this is about 38" tall on the tips of the wings and 8ft width as a flat blade not in V-mode . she is 800lbs missing its rams and wear edges on the trip shoes . the cool part is these clip in the old fisher truck side speedcaster frames . so my trucks with the fishers will be able to hold and run this once i can control the wings . they were painted almost the same shade of yellow as fisher and the back sides were all black .

I'm going to need something for stairs. Right now I'm guessing my flat edged shovel is the ticket but this will be my first winter with snow so I don't know what the
hell I'm doing. I'm a desert rat that lost his way LOL

The snocat is pretty big but the snowblower is HUGE!
Snowblower is used in SE Wyoming to open the mountain passes up at 10,000 ft and above. Twin engines, one for the blower and a 2nd to move the unit. You can hear it running for miles. They use a snowcat and dozer to knock the drifts down to about 6 ft and then use the blowers to cut the road down to asphalt.

The snocat is a 1984 Tucker. We use it for cabin access and backcountry skiing. It has a Chrysler 318 industrial with a 5 spd manual trans and a Tucker co. single speed transfer case. The axles are Dana 60 with the low gear set, can't remember but it's almost 7:1 in the diffs. The tracks use conveyor belting with steel grousers driven by a urethane coated sprocket. The springs mount to turntables that are hydraulically steered. With opposite steering it turns easily even at 20 ft long. 6 way hydraulic plow on the front allows it to plow a road up the side of a mountain and keep things level. Crew cab with a storage box, gear basket and 100 gallons of fuel.

Holy Sh!t!!! That is some crazy equipment.

How does the blade deal with the snow in the center of the blade?

early days was a bit tricky . . . todays plows do much better . when i rebuild this unit i will try and add in newer tech to help fight the problems of old days . yet still look close to stockish .

My new setup and my old setup,

My old plow is a 7.5 Western Pro plow currently mounted on a 94 K3500 with a 6.5 great setup plow has been flawless for years.

My new Plow (coming into its 3rd season) is a 9’-6” Snowex HDV ( Douglas Dynamics , they own Fisher and Western)

It has the ability to add 200lbs of extra down pressure which has proved to be awesome for back dragging . I have a little over 2 miles of road to plow and some large open areas in that as well.

I have mounts for my Dodge and my Stupidduty Because the 6.0 did 6.0 things.

snowex is the new name for blizzard plows the white ones . They changed it after the buy out .

Snowex made salt spreaders before they were bought out, Douglas Dynamics decided to use that name for the Blizzard line. All they wanted from Blizzard was the patents for the Wide-out Style plow. Nothing carries over from Blizzard. My Moldboard and center pivot is Identical to a Western V-plow with exception to the A-frame which is modded for a dual action lift cylinder where the Fisher and Westerns are chain lift . the power pack and electronics are all Identical to the Fisher and Westerns .

Either way its a great mix of all the good parts of Western and Fisher plows with addition of Hydraulic lift (and down pressure)

I haven't moved snow for 3 years.
Ditto. I like the fact that it isn't snow removal tool sale time at Lowe's here. There's a few snow shovels somewhere in the store and that's about it.

Happiest day of my life was after my divorce when I sold my yard tractor and snow blower and moved south.
Yeah, but its kinda hard to ride these below the Mason Dixon

They're called ATV's and side by sides.

Also, having seen some videos and in person stupidity you can take a snowmobile over a lot of things with enough speed.

Best day of my life was after my divorce and moving Back North , you can keep that Southern shit.

They're called ATV's and side by sides.
We have those too lol but they just don’t have the power to weight ratio. My 2000# turbo side by side has 9 less HP then my 475# turbo sled .
