Helped my brother redo the front end of his pro street car that he's in the process of doing a bit of a rebuild on.

Of course, lots to be done yet. Engine cage is the next step and the rack and pinion steering needs to be installed. Some 2" drop spindles will be swapped in. The hub/spindle combo we had to work with had something out of spec. The spindle is either too short or the inner bearing race bore isn't deep enough in the hub. Couple threads is all we could get on the spindle nut. Wheels should sit in another inch or so per side.

gives a better look outside Kert...my eyes were pretty fuzzy when I looked at it last time.
so you guys got the firewall/frame setup all ironed out then?

That's sweet. He's not gonna have much visibility out front of that thing!

You're right about that. If he has his way, first little ways down the track, even less.

Yep, pretty much set in stone at this point. Worked out pretty good in the end. Just a little to high in the front though and nothing more could be done about that with the frame sections and suspension without sacrificing to much room somewhere else. Drop spindles will have to do the rest. Then it should have just the right amount of rake.

Not sure what the final weight reduction on the front was but significant.

cool then, so a BIG block then?, or have you talked him into a Caddy powerplant?

Nah, been trying to talk him into a big block 454 as a starting point.

EDIT: actually, i've been trying to get him to finish the car with the Small block he already has for it and enjoy it for a while, then start accumulating parts for that 454 build.

good plan Kert, I've noticed the longer a project sits accumulating parts, the greater the chance it'll NEVER get done.

He does stay pretty consistant on the progress and pretty dedicated so that's good. I'd expect it will hit the 1/4 mile next year at his current rate.
