3/4 ton status
I have setup an auto responder email. If anyone wants my phone number, email me at contact at projecttorque dot com.
*Edit for those of you with kids* They have bike rentals that are kinda expensive, and paddle boat rentals too, so bring some extra cash if you want to rent those
This is the final roll call. It's here!!!! If anyone has any questions, wants my phone number, or anything, email me branndon @ gmail . com. I'm arriving early to save tables, I'm thinking people can arrive anytime they want, but plan for it starting between 10 and noon some time. We'll do some sort of group photo around 2. That should be enough time for everyone to get there.
Important: Its $5 to get in. Bring your own food. There is an Albertsons store about 1.7 miles away, but you'd have to pay for re-entry. There is a volley ball net, a horse shoe pit, a play thing for kids (see pictures below) and a few lakes for fishing. State fishing license required for visitors over 16 years of age(haven't enforced it on most people I see yet). and the big one. Consumption of intoxicants prohibited. Those are the park rules, not mine.
We need a boom box too, so if anyone can bring their's that'd be great. One that runs on batteries preferably.

The Original Post said:I've wanted to plan a so cal meet and greet for a while now. I figure I'm 2 hours south of santa barbara, 2 hours north of san diego, and 2 hours or less from apple valley area, so i'm basicaly central to most of the southern california CK5ers.

Here's my plan. A BBQ/football/fishing/whatever at Yorba Regional Park on Saturday June 10th. I'll be driving project torque there. Theres plenty of room to park all our trucks. I'll bring my video and picture cameras. I may bring my little fishing pole, but doubt I'll be fishing too much. Everyone bring your own food and drinks. Bring extra if you want. My wife and I will go out there this weekend and see where the best spot for parking and BBQing is. We are going to bring our golden retriver also.
This quote if from someones review of it:
This beautiful park is more than a mile long and rests on 175 lush acres of land. With more than 400 picnic tables, this park is ideal for a family outing. There are four lakes with connecting streams for fishing and sailing model boats. There are plenty of pedestrian and biking trails for the more active visitors. For children, there are many sets of play equipment like slides and jungle gyms. Entrance fees are $5 per vehicle per entry. Cash only.
This park also features:
Barbeques/Fire Rings
Baseball Fields
Bicycling/Bike Trails
Bike Rental
Dogs Permitted
Equestrian Trails
Family Picnic Area
Fishing
Fitness/Par Course
Hiking Trails
Horseshoe Pits
Interpretive Programs
Model Sail Boating
Playground/Tot Lot
Private Party Area
Restrooms
Shelters
Tables
Volleyball Courts
Here are some pictures of the park. I will get there early and stake out some tables.
