I just had ORDs greasable bushing/bolt kit put into my front and rear springs along with their HD front shackles. Wow. the ride is a bit smoother, but the biggest thing is the noise , there isnt any. Let me preface this by explaining....

For the longest time when I would do slow turns and just moving my truck around there was this weird noise, a cross between metal popping and creaking sounds (I even posted about it here - most thought it could be ball joints or even cracked frame at steering box, but it wasnt). Im guess that my leaf springs and stock bushings were just binding or what not. But since the ORD greasables got put in all I hear is the roar of my mighty 305 V8 and the rear locker.

I actually suspected the noise was coming from the leaf pack, but wasnt sure. but now my suspisions are proven right. Its nice not having my truck sound like a POS with all the creaks and popping sounds. lol.

anyways thought id share. :D

Good to know. I've been thinking about picking up a set of these and that's just about enough to confirm it!

Yeah, that is nice to know. Been thinking about them myself. Are you running a front sway bar? Any more body roll with these greased up?

I took my sway bar off prior to the grease bushings and it wasnt bad. It still isnt bad, but a lil more noticeable than b4. I think my old bushings were binding up or something (the creaks and popping sounds). So, I essentially fixed a problem and increased the ride quality. But the body roll is a lil more noticeable now, but still not bad. not enuff for me to put sway bar back on. I need to get a few more miles under my belt to really tell.

My crew cab does the same thing, creaking/popping when turning so I guess maybe time to add this to the list. My k5 has them and is quiet so that's a good indication of what to expect.

Yipper. The creaking and popping was driving me nuts. I thought it was frame cracked, I thought it was motor,Tcase and.or tranny mount, I thought it was steering components, it just ended up being the bushings. It is so nice driving without all that drama. its just the mighty V8 and clicking of the locker now. lol. Now it is a PITA to get the old stuff out of the back, the front wasnt bad but the ROugh COuntry springs had everything built into it, so it took some effort to get it all out.

The HD shackles raise the front, but it wasnt enuff to visible notice.

Mine is pretty quiet but rides like crap...So how much better is your ride with these?
Im fixing to do a 4" lift and was thinking to do the rear bushings while im at it.

Its hard to say, my truck actually rode pretty well with the 2" rough country springs and shocks, not like a dump truck at all. Id say it increased ride quality by 10-20%. It wasnt nite and day diff. Im still getting use to the lack of swaybar. I may put the bar back on to see if there is a real diff. I kind of did alot at once, so its hard to pinpoint what exactly made the ride better.

UPDATE**

Just for sh!tz and giggles I mounted up my swaybar (took off the ORD quick disco) and mounted it like OEM. I was surprised. It really tightens things up ingeneral up front. So now im torn. While it is nice having the flex and smoother ride, there is noticable body roll. Ive basically went back to back with taking it off and on and can tell a diff. With the sway bar off, its not dangerous or rolls to bad, but with it on, it really tightens things up. So take it for what its worth. Luckily its easy enuff to take it off and on, etc. I do think the Quick discos are the way to go though. makes it pretty easy to switch. I simply havent been doing enuff off roading to warrant them ,so I took them off and sold them and will put funds back into my truck else where.

sorry for the ramblings. :D

So are you only running a total of 2" lift? I took my sway bar off the blazer and definitely can tell the difference in body roll but it's not enough to make me want it back on. Worked out good 'cause I saved my ORD disco's and will be putting them on the g/friend's k5 with a 4" Tuff Country lift here shortly.
It's a DD but might see some light offroad/camping duty.
My crew has a 6" lift but is using a drop bracket at the main sway bar bushing, not sure I'd notice taking the sway bar off something that long and stable.

I love the greasable bushings, i run them at all corners. I also run the disconnects because the roll is abit much without the bar. I am going to have to get rid of it though, going crossover.
