What have you had to do to them to freshen them up?

I'm thinking about going that route versus re-gearing my stock axles in my V2500.. get stronger axles, 4.56 gears, and a Detroit in the rear. I know the perches on the rear need to be relocated.

Seems from what I read re-gearing would be $1000-$1200 parts & labor, versus 1 tons running $1200-$1500 around here as a set..

I'll be running 35-37" tires(just depends what'll fit after the ORD body lift and rear springs).

The other thing is I was going to do crossover anyways this summer, so that's a moot point.

ya know...there is a set of axles in the for sale forum that have already been regeared to 5.13's, detroits front and back, hysteer x-over, and discs in the back, and 35 spline outers i bet you could get for a couple grand....prolly save you money in the long run..... :wink1:

All I did to mine was move the rear spring pad and shock mounts. I also put new fluid in and rear hard brake lines on the axle. I never changed the brakes or anything else and they were fine.
