are there any new tools or special applications you guys can think of that need to be made, or improvements that need to be made to current tools?

i like to give the head cheeses some feedback once in a while from my customers, and i figured, why not go to a place where there are literally thousands of people who are so hands-on, it aint funny...

so whatchya got?
 
There are several application specific Harley Davidson specialty tools that I think many HD mechanics would buy in a minute if Snap-on made there own version. Many companies offer such tools, Jims makes the nicest, has the widest range of applications- and are the most expensive.

Some examples of what I'm talking about are:

Fork seal installers in 35, 39, and 41mm, as well as a few fairly popular sizes, but make them two piece to make them usable with the tube installed. Also, make the 41 in a low profile model too to accomodate bikes with a nacelle.

Various clutch hub pullers, transmission tools, etc.

Basically, look at Jims entire tool line. Copy it and offer it in Blue Point, or improve what you can and offer it in Snap-on.
 
Make a 3/4" impact (possibly in the red Magnesium style of the 3/8", 1/2" and 1") that can compete with the IR 3/4" composite, and I'll give it a real hard look.

make a durable air chuck with a gauge!

which the next time the Snap-On guy shows up is gonna be getting a new freaking gauge, AGAIN! If it takes a mild tap or you drop it from like 2 foot, the needle jumps and thats that, it is innacurrate from there on. I bumped it against my tool cart today, bam 10 psi off now. Pisses me off most because my Snap-On guy sucks and it took him 3 weeks to get my replacement gauge that last time this happened. I'd gladly trade it for the Matco version of the samething, but I'm certain its the same damn item.

It should come in a kit with a couple of interchangable ends and a quick coupler. I modified mine with a female coupler from our air lines. Then just throw a few fittings on some air chucks.
 
we make a digital kit with a buncha different ends, its pretty trick, ill get a pn tomorrow for ya
 
More tool options for your cordless line...

I'm ready to go get a Dewalt setup because of their variety...

right angle drill, grinder, sawzall, circular saw... And boy, I wish they made a radio/charger setup like the Dewalt or Milwaukee..

The problem...it's a rebadged big IR (Blue Point) that weighs and costs almost twice as much as the composite IR while having 100 lb.ft. less. That 1" magnesium (IM1800L) you guys have is sick...make that into a 3/4" with about 1,300 to 1,500 lb.ft. and make it weigh about 7 lbs...you'd have a winner.

yeah, I asked my Snappy guy today.. He had never heard of it..

He did get the new 18v batteries in.. gotta run that adapter thingy so i can use em in my stuff and use my old charger.. at least the price dropped about $30 a battery....
 
have you moved up to the ct4850 from the 3850? big difference... ill show you the bluepoint grinder tomorrow sometime, its badass...

btw, the word is 1200ftlbs
 
Nope.. My 3850 impact has been fine.. never an issue.. few pds less torque than the comparible milwaukee, but has always done the job pretty much... I've had some beefy shaft coupling bolts it couldn't do.. but i'll get the adapter and keep using it..

now the 4850 drill.. hope theres been some improvements with that... next time my 3850 smokes on me, i''l upgrade to the 4850... drill's been ok.. when it hasn't been billowing smoke out the vents!

my cdr3850 has worked flawlessly since day 1, nothing like the pos makita i owned for 6 months then disposed of...

cdr3850 even drilled a half inch hole into my hand no problems, thankfully for the chuck stop option it didnt go all the way through...

btw the ct4850 is rated at 350 ft lbs, and the miluakee pos 24v boat anchor wont touch it...

Haha, couple weeks ago, I finally redid the gears in my 3/8's ratchets. 1 7 yrs old, 1 9yrs and one 15... I never did maintenence on em.. The covers had never been off... They where hammered inside, but still working.. Now their all super smooth, new gears, lube..

That grinder wont take the 18 vlt batteries right?
