Also whant to see if the pressure regulator is ok but i cant seem to find it, so where is it...i see both feed and return lines on the cab of the throttle body and thats it..

The pressure regulator is botled the the underside of the injector pod. If you look where the fuel fittings thread into the injector pod you'll see the pressure regulator cup (gold colored metal can).

Ahhhh..... i feel dumb now..haha thanks...

British slave we already changed the pump.....and when the engine is on and looking and the intake and the gas being squirted id say its a bit much.. wanted to do the pressure test but the damn lines are steel lines and couldnt move them ill have to lower the tank i guess.

How to i take the throttle body out? i see a bolt there and i assume the long bolts for the air filter casing are the other 2 bolts am i right...is this someone anyone can do, take the regulator out and fix:dunno: ive never messed with a TBI before only carbs

check the injector spray pattern with a timing light...sounds like they may be crudded up...

Can you rent a fuel pressure test set from your local auto parts? I have a tester and it connects at the fuel filter.

I havent messed with it yet, im just rounding up the info.

I got a cheap-o pressure gauge from Harbor freight i will try it.

I have a pretty big pressure test kit for many different vehicles, the one for the TBI setup on these trucks basically goes inline or replaces the filter while checking the pressure. Since it's never really a bad idea to replace the filter, you're removing it, install the pressure test adapter, check the pressure, and reinstall the filter. :D

Paid a decent price for this kit, but i have used it on several vehicles already.

Hey guys...

So after seeing that the sender was not working right i decided to take down the tank and check the fue pressure....the pressure was good, at least 10 psi according to the gauge i used. now the bad part...i opened the gas tank and look what i saw i dont think its right.

There was some weird stuff looking like silicone to seal the thing, no gasket at all, the fuel pump filter (is that how its called??:dunno:) messy to hell with like mud or something... the tank interior is full of dirt...seemes it leaked water/dirt and crap... so i will wash the tank and clean out the lines but how do i fix the sender issue is it messed up???

Now would be a good time to replace the fuel pump and the "sock" after you wash the inside of the tank out. The last pic shows the rubber o-ring seal that is "supposed" to seal the sender. I have no idea where to buy a new one but if there was silicone there that's not good. From the looks of things that tank got water/moisture into it somehow and you want to avoid that from happening again. Also, the fuel pressure you really want to see is closer to 12-13 psi even though factory was anywhere between 9-12.

Well the fuel pump is new, my dad got it instaled and we never drove the truck only turned it a couple of times...
The sender is a sure thing i will chage it... i found a matching one on summit for around $70 Dorman brand...i just need to clean the sucker up and will the the sending unit come with the o ring and lock ring?

Keep the advice coming guys..thanks a lot.:thumb:

Update 7/15/11

Hey guys, i ended up buying a new tank, new fuel pump and new sender.. so today i was going to install them and i notices the lines are rusted in the inside soooooooo where can i get the fuel lines.. the 3 of them

When I did my blazer there were at least two lines that bolted on the sending unit assembly and they are factory. I think they are pressed onto the hard steel line. That steel line is one pices up to the pressed on line at the TBI. Dealer parts! Very expensive if you can get them and very hard/timeconsuming to replace.
