i went to the local truck pulls, and i didnt know if i wanted to pull or not but im stupid and i did, i have a 400hp 350/700/208 with 3.73s and 38s.everything was fine til i went to drive home after and noticed it wouldnt shift out of 1st and shakes a little in reverse. i have 5.13s have to put in though.soooo what tranny company should i look at? i want keep a 700r also. im not in a rush, just trying to get some opinions/info. thanks

I'm going with BTO's manual valve body 700...

At least it still moved, I cleaned half the teeth off mine at 299ft with a little hop. I had my tranny built locally but asked them for a firm but not hard shift so it wouldn't be so harsh in 4lo.

700R4=boat anchor:p:

If you're hellbent on keeping the slushbox, I'd say that BowtieOverdrive is your best choice. Before I went with the Muncie, I was looking at just replacing my 700 and they had the best bang for the buck. Plus everyone hear has had nothing but good to say about them. :D

hmmm..seems like a pretty good choice too go with, ive been looking around the internet and havent heard anything bad about them either....thanks guys:bow:

ya i was looking at their trannies, they say the 450hp rated one is streetable but made for "performance oriented cars and trucks" and mines a DD. and i dont want to drive everyday with shifts that whip my neck back everytime. anyone ever buy this level 2 tranny from them? http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/catalog/catalog_inc/viewitem.php?ITEMID=503

I have the level two and it shifts pretty much just like my original one did, if not better.:waytogo:

Mines also a DD:k5: and I have no complaints or regrets.:wink1:

I now have a BTO stage 3. I had some trouble with a stage 2. It appears that the bands for my 1-2 shift failed. They warranted it with no arguements. The second one lost the pump. Again, no problems with warrantee, even after the full year was up. In fact, they upgraded me to a stage 3 for no extra cost. Thank you Chris 1 and2 of BTO (Gardner, Chandler):bow::bow::bow:.
Their techs were polite and very patient with me as I tend to babble on quite a bit.:D

I would definitely buy another tranny from them in an instant. I also have no trouble recommending them to a friend.

BTO is tops in my book.:waytogo:
