I tried everyting I could thing of, swapped the old SI connector for the cs130 plug. Wire them exactly the same.

At that point the alternator whined? So I got rid of the Power wire coming from the connector. LEaving only the gauge wire, and the bolt on batt wire.

Still No charge, tried jumping power connector to bolt post, bolt post to wiring harness wire, and wiring harness wire.

I also tried to wire in a 194 bulb connector, inline with the power wire offthe alternator connector. The bulb did not light, nor did the alternator charge.

Suggestions?

So you should have one wire that has constant power on that plug, and one that is ign. hot. The ign hot should have the resistor, or bulb in this case, and the bulb should light until the alternator starts working. If that isn't happening, it is time to haul they alternator in to get it tested. The whine you heard may have been a failure happening.

hm... from what I was looking at in the wiring diagrams for the truck. 84, the stud is constant power from the starter/batter. and the plug power is also a constant?

I guess I'll take the alt to get tested and swap it out. Then put the 194 bulb connector in line for the plug.
