Got tired of those old rancho 5000 and got me some real shocks today.Fox Race series 2.5 triple bypass with remote resi for the front and King 2.0 with remote resi for the rear. Should make the bumps a bit more tolerable.

Why mix brands.

Both are good shocks although I prefer the Kings. Seems like setup help is going to suck. King will take you out and tune in Barstow as one of their customers. I doubt you would have good luck with getting either company to help you as their competitors shocks are on the other end and they aren't going to touch them.

Just my .02

I mixed because of $$$$$$$$. Not worried about setup cuz I've got tons ok 2 friends who build sand cars and will help me out. Was going to just go with the kings all the way around but got the foxes for 1/2 price and they had the by-passes

What does the rest of your suspension consist of? Those are some high dollar shocks if you're still running off the shelf leaves front and back.
I won't lie though, they do bring the cool factor. :)

Agree.. race pack deavers maybe?

I ran my king shocks two years ago with "off the shelf leaves" and I can tell you the quality of the ride and performance is much higher than any other off the shelf shock. I don't feel you need to have some fancy suspension setup to run a nice shock, overkill, maybe...but you won't have to worry about a bumpy ride.

But it does help to have a nice leaf system.

Remember to balance the suspension put, for example i have soft ride springs so i had to valve my shocks stiffer than usual to make my ride nice and easy..

I couldn't agree more, I was just saying that even with off the shelf springs, King shocks help out immensley IF they are valved correctly. I am running 16" King shocks now with soft ride 52" springs in the front and 63" soft ride springs in the rear.

Yea Deaver is known for their leaf spring tech but, I've had trouble with them on getting a set of springs for the rear.
I had a 4" lift w/ a shackle flip form DIY4X. so I thought a 54" stock spring would do the trick, give me the height I want.
Sounds simple enough but, 2 years later I'm on my third set of springs!
First set were too soft....Ok no problem just increase the spring rate a bit. Second set worked for about 4 trips and I began to see a sag in the left side that was getting worse. Mind you, this is not a daily driver, it sits in my garage most of the time. Third time, I drove to Deaver and showed them the problem [as I have for the first 2 times] showed them the K-5 gave the weight on both front and rear axles and decided to go with a 2.5" shackle flip from ORD in order to increase the arch in the spring and still retain the ride height I want.
[I figure it's kind of a rob peter to pay paul]
Three weeks later I get the springs, they look impressive, I put them on and the shackles are pointing strait back to the rear bumper!!, no lift and once again they are too soft.
So now, as of today my Blazer is at their shop in hopes of resolving this nightmare.
So I guess the point of my rant here is Deaver is not what it's cracked up to be.
