My bone stock '82 K2500 weighs in at 6,250 lbs,(6.2 ,TH400,NP208,14 bolt SF)--funny thing is my '77 K2500 I had weighed almost exactly the same ,with a 400 SB,TH350,and an NP-205 & 14 bolt SF...when I replaced the bed with a home made flat bed it went up to just under 7,000 lbs..the added weight made a noticeable difference in traction and plowing ability..and a drop in mpg too..
