When I was younger a friend of mine had a 72 Custom Bug. He was a bug mechanic and got all the good prices on stuff for his. It was built with a 2180 that was barely streetable, a close ratio tranny, and a select-a-drop front end. I used to laugh at bugs until he took me for a ride. He could get the tires to break loose hitting fourth gear on dry pavement.
He took it down to SIR for the hell of it and after a bit of tweaking pulled a 13.80....

yeah, there is alot more VW's here in Cali than Blazer's. I get more looks in the bus than the Blazer. They are both alot of fun.

A neighbor of mine has a dune buggy that he got real cheap from ? I guess its worth alot of money because of who made the tub(cant remember name). He took me out in it once......it was the worst vehicle i have ever rode in. I got a mean headache from that ViBrAtInG thing. I thought it was going to shake itself apart on the rode:)

Are you going to paint that thing some weird colors? All the twinkies i see are always painted like hippy buses.

One From None

I had an 84 GTI which was a fun little car. Only problem I had with it is I was breaking tranny mounts all the time. I guess they did not like flat shifting at 6 grand.

I knew a guy in Massachusetts that had a hot little GTI. Then he decided to make it quicker in the 1/4 mile. He installed a nitrous kit and ended up melting the pistons on a run at Epping, NH.

That's prety sweet. You know anybody that needs any engine parts? They were from a smaller engine, we pulled them to put bigger pistons and stuff on it. I need to make some room and no one here has owned a Bus since 1982!

Back in high school, my sister had a 65 bug. I was a freshman when we all piled into the car and dragged main. The big thing we did when we dragged main was...........14 people crammed into the little "pregnant rollerskate"!!!!!

Had a black 65 Ghia w/2180 and 48 IDA's. Super diff transaxle and porsche alloys, the list goes on. Dropped way low but kept a mean rake. Ran High 14's consistantly. Kinda miss it but then I take the top of my Jimmy and all is forgotten. Ghia, what ghia.

We have a 69 Karmann Ghia, My AUnt bought it brand new ad she gave it to my brother and I about 11 years ago. It is mostly original and has over 250,000 miles on it. It also has been across the country many times!

It is sitting in the garage right now, but if i poured a little gas in the carb, it would fire right up and run like a champ!
