will I need to replace th hood or will the hood work now that I purchased new hindges ?
I do see a couple small crease and bends in the hood but it is rust free and would like to keep it if at all possible..

Also don’t want the headache of trying to make it work if it’s not going to....
Thanks in adavanace

Lube the living hell out of them. All 70s something hinges are typically just frozen, I use white lithium grease.

Then get a brace kit.

All kinds of places offer them. Probably all the same shit China metal. Google and shop around.
Should help take any slight crease out.

So I already got new hindges and took the old ones off today.
I just don’t want to waste time and effort if thenold hood would re-align so was wondering if I can make it work..
I could order the braces also I guess if needed...

Last time this issue was brought up someone said or make your own braces. I thought that was an excellent idea. I was pondering removing braces on mine, cutting a slit, laying maybe 1" angle in and weld.

Why did you bother with new hinges? Are the old ones damaged?

Is your hood creased?

Ya the braces were wiggling and had screws holding them in weird places so there time was done being over40 at all fig they got there use.
The hood has a bend at the hinge area and a small crease in the middle...
Guess I will try work with it a bit sea how it sits and go from there...
