For Sale or trade - I bought this original diesel K5 Blazer 6 months ago and drove it daily for awhile. Right now it is not running because It has a broken starter bolt in one of the starter mount holes ( Starter Removed, Flywheel is fine). Also, it has fuel starvation issues related to the mechanical fuel pump, or possibly the injector pump, it would sometimes not get fuel and would be hard to start.

Then I look at the pics...

I just thought it was funny to complain about fuel starvation issues and mount the electric lift pump above the motor :haha:

The electric pump was the first thing I noticed actually...I'm guessing it didn't fix the problem. :p:

The fuel pump can't lift fuel from the tank if it is above the level of the tank. So the motor will starve for fuel as a result.

Its a diaphragm pump right?
I think it looks like one of those cheap Facet pumps, the most common is the 7psi model sold at most auto parts stores like Kragen and Pep-Boys so i'll base my assumptions on that.

If it is the assumed pump those will pull about 4 feet of head on a 3/8" hose (thats the most i've care to operate them at). Obvously it wont pull it that fast, but thats quite a distance more than the foot or so it looks to be placed in the pic above so i think the guys problem might lie elsewhere.

Not like it matters, just thinking out loud.

Should be mounted on the frame rail below the level of the tank...

It may not be all that guys problem, but it is some of his problem.
