gear your 10bolt front to match your 14ff rear and then some 3/4ton out hubs for your 10bolt so you have 8lugs all the way around and sell your 6 lug wheels

Hey Now wow wow wow :eek1:this idea you have is awesome. But I'll be alittle honest with you I'm a little new in this area of the gears and all that jazz sooo what your sayin is, the 3/4ton hubs will just slap on the 10 bolt err is there more to it?

eh haven't done it myself, just taken apart my hubs on my 6 lug 10bolt and put them back together, but from what I remember being told you need 8 lug rotors and 3/4ton backing plates to go with them. But I'm sure there are many other on here that know more about it.

What gear does your 10bolt have now? 3.73s? Do you have a 14ff already? most common is 4.10s.

btw also another easy way is to keep your current tires (if they are still good) and get some black steel 15x10 8 lug wheels so you only have to change your wheels and not have to buy new wheels and tires after the swap.

I'll have the 14 bolt soon i've been told it's got 4.10.s and my front 10 bolt has 3.73s it's also got a Blue torch fab Kryptonite diff cover, cross drilled and slotted roters, with ceramic pads, Warn hubs, ORD sway bar disco kit.... that's all i think.

read this: http://coloradok5.com/8lugconversion.shtml

it is for a dana 44 but the 10 bolt is the same.

i have some 8lug outers(everything you need except rotors) if your interested. it's all bolt on and very easy to do. im trying to sell them!!! PM me if your interested.

but yeah, 3/4 ton swaps are very easy and very common. let me know!!!

Why not just find a set and slap them in? I got my 14ff rear and 8 lug 10b front both with 4.10's and ready to go for fairly cheap...

You should have sent this to him in a PM as it reads like a for sale add in the garage.

Sweet lovin the feed back and thank for the link fourwheelerjeff that helped a TON.

On the same axle just to throw it out there what locker would you all run? :confused:I'm stuck between Detroit and ARB.

BTW this truck still sees allot of pavement I like being able to drive it to the trail and back.

What size tire do you plan on running? I would go ARB if you have the cash. I wouldnt run anything bigger than a 33in tire without upgraded shafts and joints.

Why not swap in that 14b, then go to pick-n-pull, or whatever you have in Utah, and get a 3/4ton 10b with the right gears for $125+-? Way easier, way quicker, and probably way cheaper. :wink1:

I would go with the Detroit for the rear 14 bolt. There around $400. I've had them in my rigs & they are super strong. I've had them in a DD and did't have any real problems with them on the road. I've never had an ARB before, but my friends that do say sometimes the can develop leaks in the air lines and wont hold air pressure until their fixed. If I ever lock up a front of my Blazer I would probably go with the ARB. I like to be able to steer fully all the time & with the ARB I could turn it on & off when I wanted more steering or more traction. So in a nutshell I suggest Detroit rear & ARB front.:D
