You know im talking about, the side view mirrors that dont stay adjusted and get pushed in by the wind. Any fix for this? Forgive me if im beating the dead horse but ive never seen a thread on this from all my browsing and its a pretty common problem as far as i can tell. Thanks!

me too. i've tighten that adjustment screw on the bottom of mine as much as i feel i can with out stripping it and my drivers side mirror still moves in after the door is slammed shut a few times. thats on my blazer. however, the ones on my truck are tight as hell and i've never messed with em :dunno:

you have to take the screw in the bottom off, then the cover comes off. Under the cover are big bolts that 1) hold the mirror to the door and 2) hold the mirror from moving.

IIRC, or there are lots of bolts under the cover and some of them are for adjusting/ tightening the mirror. I do remember them being under the cover. If they are tight and wont hold the mirror, you can use some small strips of rubber to put inside the clamps, to hold them more tightly

also, fixing the door so you don't have to slam it does WONDERS for keeping mirrors adjusted :)

they shouldn't move when on the freeway, that's retarded loose

Yes well you know how it is when you go out to fix one thing and find 3 other things wrong. Hell my simple oil change this weekend turned into repacking my front bearings. :doah:

Old thread, but thanks for the info! Mirrors stay right in place now after years of rolling down my window to fix it
