So until I get another blazer..

Well, I wasn't expecting some of the responses I got, Did anyone read where I said this truck is MPG? If any of you who don't like it want to buy me a K5 and pay for my gas, then your more then welcome. The truck is built for dragging, but I never said thats what I was going to use it for, and the great thing about bags, is you can adjust your ride height, so its not just on the ground or nothing. I like the truck, it'll do what i'm getting it for, saving me money to put into the new K5 I get, I'm about to get a CK5 sticker to put on it to piss off you guys who don't like it. :haha:I like it, so thats all that matters to me, and to everyone else who actually understands the point of the truck, thanks for the comments, to the rest who don't, don't bother wasting my time reading your negative opinions, I don't come in your threads and say your truck is gay, so don't come in mine and do the same. :doah:

I'm just tryin to stop you from makin a bad choice...
Just remember what i said when you pull out of taco bell and your snap off a shackle or u-bolt...
Other than that, have fun...

And BTW.. I prefer a lowered civic hatchback... :doah:
Built a few myself...
I always seem to come back to my K5...

good luck

civic hatchbacks????? brave brave soul, you couldnt pay me to ride in one let alone drive one. ive seen one to many after a car crash.

as for the truck, its definatly not my thing, but for 1900 bucks and good fuel mileage, i cant fault you for it. my only real qualm with draggin is A. it looks dumb, its kinda like the ghetto fab way of having flamethrowers (which are badass), and B. its a destructive hobby, as if the roads werent bad enough, youre gonna press over a ton and a half of mass down on two metal plates and drag them down the street????? now someone has to come along behind you and repave the road because they wanted to shoot some sparks? i just dont get it.

(edit) i meant you in a general term, talking about people that do drag them, i saw in your post that you said you werent gonna do that, so im not doggin you.

personally, i ride a bike so save money on gas. but not everyone can do that. i happen to live kinda in the wagon wheel of everywhere i need to go, so it works out for me, i even do the 30 mile round trip to one of my classes at a learning center out at the beach. i only put gas in my truck about once a month really. but thanks to ultra low sulfer diesel.... i still dont know how im making out compaired to people who commute daily in honda civics...... time to build a bio-diesel still :D

Please don't take the jokes serious, or personal. I was just messing with you. I really don't care what people drive. I am a firm believer in "to each his own, as long as it doesn't infringe on others". I know I wouldn't drive it even when it does come down to gas mileage. I've got a MTC and I don't even run it that much in the summer. Every other vehicle I own is a 4X4, all with V-8's and one is a big block. I mean Heck, you could come back on me and tell me I'm a dumb$hit for wasting all that money on gas. I wouldn't get upset at that because I drive what I drive because I want to, just like yourself, and I don't care one way or the other what any one thinks. I apologize if I upset you but is was never meant that way. I guess I thought every one was as thick skinned as myself. In the future, remember I mean nothing personal by my jokes or my BS.

Yeah, x2... We all like to give one another sh!t around here...:D

I'll be looking for another econobox after I get rid of my Saab myself, unless I get a job really close to home. I have the perfect thing in mind, if I can find another...

Decent $800 cars are tough to come by.

Hey Reddog,
I agree with you, This kinder-gentler world sucks, trust me this **** even bled over into the Military while I was still in. Christ, you couldn't even joke around or tease anyone anymore. What the hell is this world coming to?

It's all good Homey! But that could be the beer...and Scotch...and cheap champagne talking.

It was my girlfriend's b-day, so of course alcohol was involved! :D:D:D

Yeah man! Drive that low rider like it's 1991 all over again!!!

:haha::haha::haha:

So Jon,
Where were you in 1991? grade school? high school? juevy? jail? Military? HA HA HA HA

So Jon, where were you in 1991?

High school... end of freshman or sophomore year.

Hair metal was doing it's death rattle, and grunge hadn't yet taken hold. MTV was playing a lot of that dance music, like C&C Music Factory...Madonna's Vogue period... Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814....etc. And "hardcore" rap was pretty strong amongst a certain crowd (real gangsta rap wasn't around yet, at least not like it would be a few years later--it was all about bitches 'n ho's)

Every dude with a short haircut wanted a lowered Nissan or Toyota on 13's with ground effects, neon underneath, and a hard tonneau cover on the bed. They all wanted a "system" with a few 12's or bigger. Nobody knew what hit harder...bigger was better in terms of bass. One hardcore senior had a couple of 18's in the trunk, so of course he was the man.

Me in '91????

Eh... I was the Kiss fan. That pretty much sums it up. You either listened to dance music, or hardcore rap like NWA and 2 Live Crew... few people were still into mainstream rock.

I liked 1970's Kiss. And was alone. And I didn't need a "system" for that... And it ruled. :D

Edit: everyone's "system" had a Kenwood or Alpine tape deck...

i'll answer..."where was i in '91"...??

i was 9 yrs old and i was probably playin basketball or with myself.....

:D

Oh trust me, non of your posts offended me, I'd just rather read posts with more of a informational input, jokes are fine :haha:

I put 500 down on the truck today, so it'll be mine here within the next few pays, then I might actually be able to start putting money away for the K5 fund. Sorry if anyone took my post the wrong way as well, Got alot of things going through my head, one of which is if I'm going to have to find somewhere to live, seeing how I am irresponsible at 19 years old, held many jobs, do what I have to do, but yet my 21 year old brother, who has never had a job in his life, somehow gets things handed to him.

This truck is more to me then just a little truck on bags, its going to be what helps me take care of what I need to do, and it will be mine, payed for by my money, like everything I have gotten, which means alot to me.

Continue the joking, positive, negative, opinions, whatever you like.

While your at it, help me with this problem.

It has the 2.4 with a 5 speed, Its carbed i'm guessing, as thats what it appears to be, anyway. The guy said the carb was bad, it sat, we changed it out, when you turn the key, the fuel pump primes, truck will start, run for about 15 secs, and then die. Seems like after it primes, it just doesn't feed the gas anymore? The guy said he changed the fuel pump, has a new fuel pressure regulator, I tried redoing the all the vacuum lines, plugging them, nothing changed. Fuel pump doesn't seem to be cutting out, has some sketchy wiring, I'm thinking it has to either be a fuel problem, a bad ground, bad wiring for the fuel pump, or maybe timing? It has me stumped, I just want to have it running perfect before I pay it off. So any help guys?

A good friend of mine had the same truck, not lowered though, hence the word friend,HA HA HA. I can't remember if those things were carbed or TBI. If it is carbed, does it start right back up after it dies and primes again? If so check for a stuck float in the carb. It definitley sounds like a fuel delivery problem, not ignition. I couold be all wrong though. Just a thought.

I'd pimp it. Then again I drive a Geo Tracker every day. It's hard to trump good gas mileage any more.

I'd prefer a plain 2wd pickup like that but then again it's a moot point up here. That truck stock or slammed would be teh suckage in the snow.

Truck will start right back up after it dies, if you let it prime first, We replaced the carb/tbi because thats what he thought was wrong, so unless both have sticky floats, then it has to be something else, i'll figure it out though, and by the time I get the truck, winter will be over with, and i'll have another k5 by next winter :D
