So last month I sunk my truck in what you might call a lake... Long story short, the engine crank case sucked in A LOT of water, I mean more water than oil.
I changed the oil once I got it out before driving it home. Since this point I have been having a tick. I thought it was exhaust for the longest time until yesterday when I cold started the truck and for the first second the truck was running the ticking was really loud until I established oil pressure. I thought that can't be exhaust because it went away with the oil pressure coming up.
So today I pulled the valve covers and checked the whole valve train. Everything is in good order, no bent pushrods, no broken valve springs, no cracked rocker arms. So I re-adjusted the valves buttoned it up and the ticking is still there. Its quieter now but its still there. I have located it to the passenger side about 1/2 way down the engine rather than at the valve covers.
I'm at a loss here, I can't figure this one out. My engine runs perfect, no missing or any eraticness at all. In fact it seems more powerful now than it ever has been. Sorry for the long post, but any suggestions would be appriciated.
