So would ya run this on your rig?

Pretty cool idea. Awesome flotation. Sprockets on the back look like a disaster waiting to happen. I like it though.

Cool idea. Chain drive looks "hungry"

I wonder how it would do on some steeper hills. It must have some limitations or not be as good as tracks, otherwise why did this idea never take off.

I have a 1936 B John Deere, no floataion what so ever, but in deep snow as long as you go strait it keeps going. The thing works really well for pulling cars out in the winter time... except for freezing the entire time out in the cold with no cab.

i want one. that thing is freaking cool. I just pirated the video to stick on my phone and tempt a couple of fabricating buddies...

I wonder if it would float on water. I bet the wear and tear on those ridges on the pontoons though was hell. For some reason also "just one ping only Vasily" is going through my mind as well....

My guess would be that it doesn't work for crap on anything but snow/mud. On hard packed dirt (or asphalt etc.) it would probably spin like crazy because it can't cut below the surface.

I like this video just for the fact that the EPA, osha, sierra club, DMV, ect. would go freakin nuts if they didn't know it was from 1924. (did anyone else notice the factory in the background of the grass test with the black smoke?). makes me wish I was there.

Does the steering wheel function for anything other than for him to hold on to? Turning would be with the foot brakes, right?
