Nonsense. You simply have manual brakes and manual steering. You can stop just fine.
Vehicles were available a long time without either......

Sure you have brakes still, but on rigs as heavy as ours with big tires it is a challenge to say the least. Just don't take your foot off for one second haha.

I agree.

There is a big difference between manual brakes, and power brakes that no longer have the booster working--I nearly crashed my 79 C10 several times when the booster failed,I stood right up out of the seat with all my 170lbs on it,it felt like it went faster instead of slowing down!I can imagine the hydroboost system is probably worse than the vaccumm system when the power assist is lost--most trucks that have that weigh at least 6000 lbs.
Same goes for steering, manual steering is difficult, but power steering with no pump or belt is nearly impossible to turn, especially at slower speeds. I realize it is still possible to steer and stop without the power assist, but the question is,can you do it in time,if at all??

I completely disagree. You can still stop just fine. You will need quite a bit more pedal effort but I drove my truck for months with a bad brake booster
Adding the new booster made it much easier to stop but the stopping performance didn't change much at all.
Manual brakes ARE different than power with a leaky vauum cylinder as is steering, however, your rig can and will stop and steer without power assist, I know for a fact.
I have driven several miles with no belt on my power steering pump as well, including on the highway. Definitely more steering effort with the 38.5x16 TSLs but really not unbearable....
