Hey everybody. I'm working on my bare frame now in my build, and was wondering if it is possible to run soft brake and fuel lines along the frame to the rear instead of the hard lines. The frame reenforcement I'd like to do will make running hard lines difficult if not impossible. I was looking at the kevlar reenforced braided lines, but don't know if they will take the pressure. Any one have any experiance doing something like this? Thanks Dave

The longer the length is of a "soft" line the more brake pedal fade you will have. You really want the shortest amount of "soft" line in the system for the best braking.

I understand the fade vs expansion of the longer soft lines, but don't have any experiance with the newer heavy duty lines such as the kevlar/stainless braids. Do they expand to the same degree as a regular rubber line, if so any ideas of a "flexable hardline"?

I'd think running soft lines would be almost as hard as running a hard line. Trying to properly secure it inside the frame (I'm assuming you're boxing it) would be hard. If you are boxing it, couldn't you run the hardlines outside the frame rail? Thats how the factory does it with boxed frames.

i would not like the price of a braided line at around 100-130" long. :eek1::doah:

just do the hard and be safe / reliable / and dot aproved. :waytogo:

Thats all I needed to know. Thanks guys, some time you get a crazy idea, and some times they even work lol. Not so much on this one. Hard lines it is...Dave
