I was just wondering who ordered a soft top for their blazer. I ordered mine and it is taking a very long time to get finished\shipped.

How long did it take for you to get yours?
it has been 2+ months for me so far and counting!

Specialty Top Company was the company. I got in contact with them and said it was going to ship out today or tommorow so its done now. all is well for now they had a back order on a J hook or something that came from another supplier. Not really their fault was just way longer than I thought it would take. They also mentioned that it was their busiest time of year for people ordering softtops so I can understand.

I was just curious to see how long others have waited for thiers and im sure the wait is worth it!

big black blazer: my stc softtop took 11 weeks to get here. he said that the tinted back windows were on backorder

looks like about the same time frame as me.

I Ordered a top 5 months ago, after 3 months of "it will be done it 2 weeks" i canceled the order and asked for my money back. The person said no problem, so 2 weeks go buy and no refund.I call back and get the line that they are selling the company and he doesnt know when i can have my money back. He then said that i should file a claim with my credit card company if i wanted it back.
Unfortuanalty it was purchased on a debit card.I dont know if anyone has run into this but NEVER purchase anything online with a debit card. the bank offers no protection against fruadulant purchases or failed products. Once the money is gone.....Its gone. So Here i am now Screwed with no money or top!

That is VERY good advice. Maybe you should post that in the lounge- I think some folks aren't aware of that kind of situation.

Did you order yours directly from STC or another vendor. I went through the same thing I ordered mine in july and by november I was still getting the "it will be the next week" thing so I canceled. I did use my Credit card though not debit. and I was able to file a dispute which got my money back right away. The vendor told me he could not give me a refund until he got refunded by STC which I thought was unaceptable since I ordered from him not STC

I ordered directly from stc and have been dealing with them directly about all of this, I would be in the same boat if i had used my Credit and not Debit card

Is that the kind that snaps to the body or does it use a "rail system" like the STC tops?

Kayline never offered the fastrac version. It's a snap top.
STC bought out kayline after kayline closed, I think late 90's, and during STC's heyday, they added the Fastrac and many more colors.

I wanted to know if you have to drill into the body to add the snaps or is it an "L" channel that attaches to the rail then you snap into the L. Less holes to drill.

I had the kayline snap version for my 73.
You have to drill the tailgate snap positions, the sides have a rail which contains all the snaps, and you attach that rail to the bedside top through the existing holes in the top of the bedside left from the top bolts. There's a couple extra holes to drill there too for the bow pivots.
On the front, not sure on the '76-91, mine was a '73, the front windshield frame had another rail which had all the snaps, but you still had to screw that rail down to the top of the windshield frame.

This isn't the classifieds. Next one to post up regarding trying to buy or sell in this thread gets an official warning.

So, if you're not trying to swing a deal why are you posting up your email? Those posts are gone from public view, I and every other mod can still read them.
