hope this is not a silly question but I have a 78 Jimmy that has went through the full top conversion. It currently has a hard top on it but I plan on changing that over the winter. I am wondering if I should expect any issues getting a soft top to fit a “modified truck”. I assume a soft top for a 73-75 would be the correct year to purchase? Any suggestions on brand?

If the factory hard top fits with no leaks, gaps, etc then I'd say it's safe to assume a soft top will fit ok but ultimately it's guess on a converted truck. As far as I know, Softtopper is the only company actually producing tops at the moment. Canback is supposed to be making them again but no one has actually received one yet. In fact, there's a thread here in this forum about an unfilled order.

Pics of the truck?
