Good morning everyone

I could really use some advice

So I was installing the header bar without a hitch, until I got to screwing in one of the bolts on the side of the frame. Long story short, I have nothing for the bolt to screw into anymore. It's a long story as to why there's no receiving end for the bolt to screw into and I won't bore you with those details.

I basically now just have a hole through the frame with nothing for the bolt to screw into. I would love some suggestions for attaching this last part of the header bar to the frame.

Here are a couple pictures. Thank You guys. Really appreciate it. Weathers getting nice so excited to get this open air cover on

Take Care

Having another body to help with the install of the top itself goes a loooong ways. It's a tight fit at first but stretches a bit after its been on the rig for awhile. During the first couple rains, the places where the tie straps are sewed on, dribbled a little but sealed up and I haven't had to use any sealer or anything. Very well made product and definitely worth the money.

Really appreciate the help guys. The Rivnut was the perfect solution. Got it up last night without too many issues. I’m lovin it so far. I’ll send some pics later today

Hey Guys,

Just finally buttoned everything up and tied up some loose ends today. Man I love this thing! I don't want to drive anything else ha ha. I'm thinking to taking it camping tomorrow for the first time.

Really appreciate all the feedback and help. Here are a couple pictures of it up;

How long did it take to put on? Mine came in yesterday looking to install over weekend
Hey...

Very exciting congratulations! Did you get black?

I would say right about that 4 - 6 hour range and that was by myself. It would have been more in that 2-4 hour range if I had more experience, help and didn't screw up on a couple things ha. Overall though it's incredible. I'm in love with it. I just posted some pictures on the thread here for you to check out.

Look forward to seeing yours all done. Take Care,

Hey guy's,

Thought I'd share a couple images of my SofTopper. Just wrapped it up today! Man..... I really am in love with this thing. So much fun to drive with it up, especially now with the weather cooling off a bit. Have those butterflies we've all experienced when I'm on the road

Take Care!

Sweet! Yeah I think I was like 8-9 weeks but like you said, completely worth the wait. It's completely transformed the vehicle into something unlike anything on the street. It's so awesome. Look forward to seeing the pics

Mine took like 3 hrs but I had another hand available to hold stuff in place and to help stretch the canvas and getting it snapped in place. I love mine and will not go back to a hard top.

spray the fabric real good with some 303.

I’m fairly sure I saw it on this site but I cannot find it. There was someone who used a spring loaded detent ball and drilled a couple holes on the rear window bar that allowed him to shorten its width when the top is up and the bar isn’t sticking out on either side. I think I can just buy some hardware and do something but I’d like to see how it was done.
Sweet I’ll do that thanks. Yeah I would be interested in seeing how he did that too. That did run across my mind as I saw those two ends sticking out when rolled up. Let me know if you find it and or come up with your own solution. Thanks

I took out the rear window glass in mine and some of the guts for the weight till I find a truck tail gate
Great feedback! I did see a YouTube video where they took out the glass. I mean I guess there’s no reason to have it in there with the softop right? I’m sure that glass is crazy heavy. The motors jacked up on it anyway :)

Thank You! I love it so far. What do you mean by swap the tail gate? To something lighter or what. Thanks
A truck tail gate fits right in place of the K5 gate and the hinges bolt right in. Saves quite a bit of weight and to me is easier to open and close.
