So these are basically what the mods done consist of? I'm guessing you are firm on the 12K price tag too.

I don't wanna sound rude, but you're gonna be waiting a long time to get $12K for your rig. Before settling on a price, you need to do a little lookin' around here to get a feel for what the market's like for a similar vehicle.

I'm not saying your rig isn't nice, I'm just saying you're expecting quite a bit more than it's worth right now, especially seeing that it's not in mint shape w/ a recently rebuilt drivetrain.

Good luck, though. And welcome to CK5.:thumb:

I appreciate the feedback, Can Can. I set my price based on comparable rigs I'm seeing on AutoTrader.com, etc. But I'm open to negotiation.

And Bulldog, the complete list of specs/mods can be found on my website, along with many pictures.

No intent to stir things up but maybe you need to check out the market a little better, blazers that need that much rust repair and body work don't sell for 12K.

I'll consider offers, and if the collective wisdom here has some recommendations for more appropriate pricing, fire away.

I have looked at a ton of blazers since I am looking to add to my collection. I would say yours would fall into the $4500 to $5000 range...

I'd agree.

Initially I was going to throw out 6K but didn't cause I thought even that was a little high.

chrisrimple, decent of you to be open minded enough to ask for opinion's. :waytogo:

I'm glad to see that you are being as open to suggestions as you are. I was trying to convey in a not too smartalecky kind of way and without directly saying, you haven't done that much and it still needs quite a bit of work. Since it was your first post I didn't want to scare you off. Welcome aboard.

12,000.00 WOW! Just looked at the pictures and was thinking $3,400.00 and working my way up to $4,000.00 max.

In today's truck market in Seattle... he will be lucky to get a buyer for $1000. There are just too many old trucks out there for sale that are not selling right now. Blue book value on my '90 Suburban is only $50 right now as a trade in

Thanks for all the feedback. I've been traveling, finally had time to catch up.

I'm frankly surprised by the collective wisdom. Not only do I have significantly more invested in the Blazer (granted, at shop prices because I didn't do the work myself) than what I'm asking, but it feels like a lot of that work is being ignored. For example, someone commented about "rust", but the only rust is the rocker panels, a known problem for this model. Similarly, the rig has a $3.5k crate engine with low mileage, $2k bedliner throughout, $1k air conditioning/heating, $1k in custom welding (roll cage, tire carrier, etc.), and so on. The complete list is long and, at new prices, would cost $8-10k by themselves, not counting the condition of the body, paint, etc.

I knew going in that $12k was too high, but one has to hope. :) I would be happy to get $8k for everything. Does that seem unreasonable?

Yep.
In this market expect to get about a return of .50 cents on the dollar of your investment...if youre lucky.

thats the prob here... If your expecting to get your outlay for labor back, ain't gonna happen...

I can do killer bedliner for $200, etc, etc....

You keep it out to the general, "no clue about Blazer crowd", someone may bite.. But anyone in the know will chuckle.. nice first gen, but you can buy badass, 1 tonned, big block, highly capable rigs in here for 5 to 7 g's usually..

heck, I think DPI wanted like 6, 7 grand, and his rig is pretty sick...

I'd be happy with 6, accept 5, and take 4500 when desperate... my.02 :D

Actually $12k for a firstgen is not that unheard of at least in CA.

Mine was in pretty similar condition, but I didn't even pay half that when i got it a couple years ago. If it had super nice paint and the quarter panel dents and rockers fixed along with a newer motor, it would be much more likely to get close to $12k. But even you'de have to wait a while for the right buyer to come around.

But the economy is killing trucks sales for everyone except those looking for a deal on a classic. Realistically if the market in WA is anything like CA, that's a $6k truck at the very most with $5k what I wouldn't go below unless I was desperate.

Right now the seattle area truck market is rock bottom with nothing but the "best deals" selling. No one is even offering rediculous trades anymore... I used to get 100 rediculous trade offers a day off of craigslist, now my ads are up for both parts or the whole truck with no interest at all.

I'm not sure mine would even bring 12K and I am more in the 25 to 30 K investment area and doing a ton of the work myself. Here is a pic of mine in case you are wondering.

Another good indicator is Steve having difficulty getting the UAV sold for 10K. Definately worth that in my mind and way more invested.
