SOLD! - 4L80E case for mock-up... 2WD or 4WD

Like the subject says. I don't need a runner or even a rebuildable core, just a junk case that I can bolt between the engine and the 6-hole intermediate adapter for my Atlas.

Looking in NH or MA probably... I don't want to spend a lot of time or money on this one, I just need to get my mock-up work done and then I'll order a fresh 4L80E when the money tree blooms... what time of year does that generally happen anyway?

Not a super hurry either, just keep your eyes/ears open and let me know if you hear of anything. Thanks!

You might be able to get away with a TH400 case plus a spacer if you don't find the 4L80E case... but I'd also check in with your local tranny shops. I'm sure they get cracked cases from time to time.

if you were closer i have a few 4l80 trannys i would let you barrow.

but like said grab a 400 and add like 2" if i recall correctly and much better than finding a 4l80 for core.

The problem is that I want to mock-up for ALL the dimensions, not just overall length. I'm building a custom center tunnel, etc. and I don't want to make assumptions about anything being the same as the TH400.

My experience has been you will see a lot better response in the "Wanted" forum. I always check there first and the other boards later if I am not looking to buy something.

I did notice that there is a company on eBay selling a bare case for about $125 including shipping.

If all else fails, I guess that's an option.

There is a 4L80 in my storage unit that I would part with but it is ready to go and possibly more than you are looking to spend at the moment. Just throwing it out there because it is in your proximity. It is the 4wd version. Let me know if you are interested.

Hey,

Does anyone know if a 4L80E that was behind a 6.5 diesel is the same case and overall dimensions as a standard 4L80E??

I'm guessing the differences are the torque converter and the computer that shifts it, but otherwise they are identical.

Well, not really SOLD as much as FOUND.

Ended up finding one down in MA, nice guy....met me near his house and sold me a complete unit for $75. Can't beat that, especially since I was already traveling down in that area today for work.
