CONTACT OWNER AT:
1990 Chevy Suburban 3/4 Ton V2500 4x4
HISTORY:
Always been a California vehicle; first 12 years in Bakersfield; next 10 years in Sacramento. I have owned it 13 years. Window sticker and all OEM service books included. Purchased in 1999 with 127K miles; now has 167K. Vehicle was stock when I purchased it. It has never been wrecked; all panels are original. I had it professionally repainted the original Fire Red and clear coat in 2004 and replaced much of the window rubber at that time. CA Smog Legal and Registration is current. The first owner had it as a company car; regularly serviced. The second owner was a soccer mom; again regularly serviced. I have all maintenance receipts from 1990 to present. I kept it in good shape. It was cherry when I bought it; I think it still is really sharp.

Kodiak Electric Steps (need repair)
NEEDS ATTENTION:
The B&M transmission pan drain plug leaks; needs an O-ring.
The Kodiak electric steps stopped going up and down years ago; motors bad.
Brake pads are like new, but pulls to the right on a hard stop.
The odometer works fine; the speedometer and cruise control do not work. The brake warning light on the dash flashes on and off signaling an ABS problem. All three of these components are speed related, so I suspect the problem is in the VSS circuit. I have driven for 5+ years with these issues, but haven’t taken the time to solve the problem.
Headliner is sagging a bit, dashboard pad has a crack (carpet cover included). Electric door locks stick (this has been a problem since new). The interior is missing some special trim screws and other minor parts.

Beautiful truck. Too bad it's on the wrong coast.

Additional pictures of the literature that comes with it; I have more books that I will include as well (not pictured). Please note the magazine picture was taken in 2001 "before" the new basecoat, clearcoat paint. As you can see, this Suburban has always been a nice vehicle.

If I had the money, I'd snap that up in a heartbeat. That's a great deal IMO.

Too bad I am so close, I am itching I wanna buy it but I shouldn't, couldn't.
It would be so nice added to my collection of Burbs.:doah::eek1:

That thing seems nice!
The wifes Durango is starting to do some weird things ..... I am gonna try to talk her into putting a 3rd sub in the driveway. She'll probably veto driving a lifted rig for her daily driver :doah: but we'll see.

It is nice! For almost 20 years I drove two Suburbans: a 1985 from 1993 to 1999, and this 1990 from 1999 to now. They are great vehicles. I get compliments on this red one all the time.

Is that two overload leaves under the rear?

Is that two overload leaves under the rear?

Yes; dual leaf overloads. You can load the back with all your camping gear, the 3rd seat with 3 of your biggest friends, and still have capacity to trailer your quad or jet ski.

The 6" of lift comes from these spring packs plus small, 1-1/2" tapered blocks. The rear springs were removed, taken apart, new pads installed on each leaf, and repainted in 2009. The front springs are 6" lift Rough County Suspension.

I saw the block so I saw the combination of lift, and now after seing an overload like this split in half, I can see a use for doubling up.:eek1:

Are you sure your not on the wrong coast? It wouldn't be so nice if it spent all its life on your side...

While that's true, I think Ill stay over here on the right side. I lived there for several years and it was enough. Anyway, I like my machine guns too much. You guys aren't allowed to have cool stuff like that! :woot:

we can have all the toys we want in NV. :D

super clean suburban man, wish i had the room/$$ for another one.

If it's still around come spring time next year, I'll be purchasing a one way ticket to the west coast.

Doubt it will last that long, beatiful rig man.

Man that is a nice looking burb indeed. I would be all over it if I could, good luck with the sale.

Heading to the East Coast

The Suburban was loaded up today and heading to a family in Massachusetts, USA. May it bring them enjoyment both on and off the road for many years to come. Thank you COLORADOK5.COM!!!

Wait, did it go to a member?

Mind me asking what it sold for? Feel free to PM me if needed.

Every time i've had an issue with mine, or gotten frustrated in the last few weeks, buying yours has come to mind!

Glad it sounds like it went to a good home!

The new owner isn't a member, but he found my 4x4 by searching on this forum. It is now turning heads on the streets in Massachusetts.

If you're looking for appraisal information, just open the current (September 2012) issue of 4 Wheel & Off-Road. it features a 1987 Suburban built for $3,312. The same Sub is featured in this video:

In my opinion, the $3,500 asking price for my ride was very fair. I'd rather not share what the new owner paid.
