79 chevy stepside - $2000.oo firm, may consider partial trade for some quality fab work on another truggy project I have plus cash if you are local.

Located in Maricopa AZ, titled in Colorado.

The Good:
TBI 5.7 liter from an 88 suburban. Wiring harness from 79 was completely removed and replaced with harness from 88 suburban from headlights to tail lights so there are no cuts or hacks. Instrument cluster from 88 was used to retain stock VSS. Engine is completely stock for reliablility and runs strong.

40 gallon suburban fuel tank mounted on custom subframe in bed of truck above rear axle.

Rear FF 14 bolt with 4:10 gears and detroit locker

Front is a 3/4 ton D44 with 4:10 gears. Spider gears welded.

SM465 4 speed with 205 transfer case.

4" fiberglass cowl induction hood

Bucket seats with center console

Tilt steering column from 88 suburban

Winch front bumper with built in reciever mount (no winch)

The Bad:

Speedo cable is snapped. This causes a check engine light because the VSS from the 88 is speedo mounted. Truck runs fine but the light stays on. I have another cable from a suburban but just haven't made the time to install it yet.

Tranny-tcase adapter leaks at front mounting surface. I had to replace the adapter and just used silicone with no gasket as I was planning on swapping in an automatic soon. Classic case of saving $10.00 and costing yourself later.

Throw out bearing starting to make some noise. See above for why it hasn't been replaced.

Typical dents and dings from 4-wheeling. Cab corners rusted, plugged with expanding foam. I never intended for this thing to be pretty.

Slight death wobble at typical 35-45 mph. This only showed up when I put the 36" military bias tires on. It had 35" AT's before and had no issue.

I have other parts from this project for sale in the applicable forums such as a set of doors to be cut down to half doors, a Klune V underdrive, a 6 round bolt pattern 205, and the H1 double bead locks that the 36's came on. If anyone is interested in a package deal let me know!

Thanks for looking! Rich

Asking too much? A couple of things I forgot for the "good" column:

ORD sway bar quick disonnects

ORD weld in AND bolt in frame stiffners/supports for steering box

Rear lift is home built shackle flip, front is 4" springs.

Just replaced fuel pump
Make an offer, if you have something to trade hit me up, I may be interested.

$2500.00 plus a set of doors that can replace the dented ones on it or be cut down for half doors? If the CO title is an issue I have a trailer and can take it to the AZ DMV for VIN verification and retitling if that is an issue for anyone. It is emissions complete and passed with no issues when I registered it in CO. I want this thing out of my driveway!
