I have a 1989 GMC 1 ton crew cab dually. it is in great shape, body is straight and int. is clean. I got it on a trade and dont need it. I know the last owner and have know this truck the whole time he owned it. its a silverado and loaded.

here is the story on it, po had it for a couple years and used it to tow a 23ft boat. he loaned it to his cousin to use it to move this summer. he got 4 miles out of town before he noticed it was overheating. the lowwer radiator hose busted and drained the cooling system on the highway. we towed it back to his house and he installed a new hose and a new radiator. we fired it up and it was missing, so he installed new plugs and wires. still missing. we pulled the valvecovers and found #2 exhaust valve sticking open a bit. then it sat there until last week. some poor bastard broke in to it and stole the 10 dollar cd player. he wanted something I had and I always liked the truck. now its mine. I put in a new battery and fired it up. still misses and 3 of the the freeze plugs are out so it wont hold water. the block is fine. runs strong.
I will throw in a set of heads for it and you can fix the freeze plugs. forgot to mention it has 6 brand new tires. sorry for the novel.

forgot to mention, will trade for a new canopy for my dodge or a 6" superlift W/bilstiens for the dodge, or a set of srw 1 tons.

price is 1300.00

You and those crew cabs w/ red interior? I just don't get it. Good luck w/ the sale.

What motor & tranny? I'd assume TH400 but you never really know whats been swapped in an old truck... Do you know the rearend gear ratio?

its all original tbi 454, t-400, 4:10 gears I think. its never been messed with and dosent have 100,000 miles on it even.

boz42- yeah I seem to have a nack for getting red interior rigs. this one will clean up almost as clean as the cc I sold you. defenently would keep it if I hadent just bought a new dodge. will keep it if it dosent sell soon, for what I am asking.

Take a whole buncha pics in the daylight. All angles inside and out, as well as underhood pics. Thanks.

Do you think it would make a 200 mile trip over the pass if the freeze plugs were fixed? I'd imagine the gas mileage would suck worse than normal... but how bad is the miss? Just one cyl?

I personally wouldnt try it, one of the freeze plugs is behind a motor mount also, or I would have fixed it already. motor will need to be picked up quite a ways to get to it.

Looks like its missing a bolt off of the AC bracket too :haha: I probably won't be able to do anything with it if I can't drive it home. Flat towing a crewcab dually with a smaller 3/4 ton truck over the pass would not be fun. Actually I probably wouldn't be able to do anything until after Christmas anyway. That is where the cash needs to go pretty soon :doah:

no missing bolt, not sure which one you are talking about. compressor has never been off. truck has only 101,542 miles on it. trust me its way clean for the year, ask boz42 what I mean when I say its clean.

Damn I have all the stuff I need to fix it just no money to get it, thats nice having a 4x4 tow rig is too much of a temptation for me.

Sorry should have said it looks like its missing the nut off of a bolt... but its probably just a long bolt and the bracket has a tapped hole. I can tell its clean... and I've seen your old red crewcab in person. I know you have good taste in trucks.

yeah, bracket is tapped. forgot I met you before in ellensburg. yeah the red truck was clean, this one I will keep if it dosent sell soon.

So, TBI 454, TH400, 4.10 D70 rear? Correct me wherever I'm wrong, plz.

Where're the rust spots? Is there a hitch in the bed? A/C work well? Was there any damage to the interior from the break-in/stereo theft?

I think its a d70 rear, I never looked under it. there is no rust on the truck, has some paint flaking due to bad factory primer. dash bezel is broke around radio, thats it. no hitch in bed, has tiedowns for camper. very solid truck. havent tried the a/c its cold here.
