I can't believe that I am doing this, but I have an '07 Duramax that gets all the road time. I need to pick up a small car or truck for gas and the K5 drew the shortest straw as the one to go up for sale.

$2500

The good:
-Power windows, door locks, rear window.

-The truck has never been lifted. It is sitting on 33's

-Besides the passenger front fender, the body is in good shape. There is no rot or rust anywhere. There is only minor pitting on the bumpers.

-Motor is pretty much stock. It is the fuel injected 350 that came from the factory. Tranny is the 700r4. It runs great and just passed the emissions testing this last weekend.

-Tabs are brand new as of this last weekend.

-The whole front end was rebuilt about 3 years ago. New tie rods, ball joints, stabilizer, etc. Alignment was done after. Not much mileage has been put on since then. Only thing that didn't get replaced were the shocks and the pitman arm. I planned on lifting it so I was waiting out for those.

-Oil changed frequently since I have owned it. I have had it about 8 years now.

-I have taken the top off every summer almost and have never had a problem with it leaking when I put it back on.

-Light bar and front bar total 7 lights. Top round ones are Dick Cepek, bar is Dick Cepek, and I am unsure what the square ones are. The front bar is KC titaniums.

-Heater core was just replaced this past winter.

-Runs great and I have parts to do a tune up just haven't put them on. (It doesn't really need a tune, but I picked up the parts because it has been a while and I am anal about that stuff)

-Miles on the clock are 148xxx.

-Has 4.10 gearing front and rear. Still all 10 bolt stuff with a gov lok in the rear. Front is open.

-Had the drive line rebalanced and lengthened a couple of months ago. Heavy duty, expensive u-joints were put in.

-I have tons more to say about this truck but trying to make this as quick as I can. I know this truck inside and out so I can answer anything you want.

The bad:
-The paint has the dreaded Chevy peel going on in the lighter center color. I was going to get it painted but haven't had the time nor the money.

-The windshield needs replaced. It is still road worthy but is cracked all over on the passenger side.

-The tires are getting low on meat. They are 33's and have lasted a great deal of time. I was holding out to lift it and get bigger tires. They are probably down to 1/4 or so. They should last fine through the winter though.

Thanks for looking. I can get specific shots of the truck, just ask. If you have any questions reply here or it may be better to email. [email protected]

It has to be local and picked up. I don't have the time or the means to ship. I am busy with work so I can't bring it to you either.

Am I crazy or do I just not see a sale price???

I -It won't have a stereo.

*EDIT* Winch is in some of the pics. It is not on the truck anymore. A buddy picked it up from me before I put it up for sale.

Apparently he started parting it out for free so I call dibs on the rest of the stereo stuff and the guages.:D

:o:doah:

Thanks for catching that it didn't have a price. Oi! It's been a long week so far and it is only Tuesday. :eek1:

I went to my buddy first because he said a while back that he wanted the K5 if I decided to sell it. He is going through some tough times and unfortunately can't pick it up off me right now. He asked if I would sell the winch off the truck though.

The stereo is coming out and going in the next vehicle I pick up. The gauges are staying in.

I won't be parting the truck out. It is in great running condition and has no rot. I couldn't bare to chop up a good truck. There are plenty of ones out there that are in bad shape that could be had for parts.

The previous owner cut up the door to put speakers in and when I got to it there was just the holes. I had some old speaker grills that I put over them. I was just going to pick up new bottom door panels from LMC. That was about 7 years ago. As you can see, I never did it. I really don't like door speakers. It makes holes in the doors and they don't sound good when they are just projecting into the side of the seat. The bug that I picked up had holes cut into the doors as well. :doah:

Basically what I am taking out is the deck, the amps that were in it, and the subs. The dash 4 inchers and 6x9's are staying in. The 4x8's or what ever were in the very back were long gone before I got to the truck so there is square holes where they used to be.

I just picked up a flip out in dash dvd player that I am going to put in the bug instead of the deck out of the blazer. I am going to put the pioneer flip down detachable face cd player back in the truck. It will have a stereo then.

Alright guys....I dropped the price down. I took off the front lights in the grill guard. If it doesn't sell by tomorrow (Wednesday Sep. 24th) I am going to remove the top light bar and the side tube steps.

I am thinking if it doesn't sell by this weekend, I am going to go to some dealerships. Going to hunt down a car and then see what they will give me on trade. Going to be a loss for everyone. 1)They are going to rip me on the trade in value and 2)they are going to jack the price back up when they go to sell it, so someone is going to pay more than I am asking here.

If someone has a nice honda civic '93-'99 that is what I am looking for and would do a trade. Has to be a manual transmission though and the title needs to be clean.

If you are lucky, they will give you $500 on it as a trade :doah: They just are not giving anything for low MPG trucks on trade. I've had my '90 Suburban up for sale at $1000 with no interest (other than one guy in SOCAL :doah:)

$500? Really? :eek1: There is no way. If I can't get $2500 then it isn't worth it for me to sell it. I figured that they would give me around 2k for a trade. $500!! That is just crazy. :(

There is a guy up in Renton that wants to check it out. He seems pretty excited. Said that he has looked at a lot of them and mine seems to be in the best shape and just wants to look in person to make sure. I am not going to keep my hopes up, but that would be awesome. I can't justify selling it for less than what I have it at now, but I don't know if I have the room to hold onto it. I am in such a bind. I really do wish that I could keep it. I get really attached to my vehicles and it is killing me to sell it.

I was only offered $2000 for my wifes 2002 Volvo S60 as a trade in a couple months back... I laughed and left. You also have to be careful that the dealer doesn't try to jack up the price of the rig your looking at so they can give you a better trade in price as well. Plenty of them try that too. It won't hurt to ask, but just don't be surprised by lowball trade in values right now.

Yes, I know all too well how that works. I worked at a GMC/Pontiac dealer for 5 years. They jack up the price another 2k (or what ever they deem) and say that you are getting 4k for your trade. I used to check in all of the trades so I knew exactly what they were taking them in for. I would talk to some of the customers and a few of them said what they were told they got for the trade and it was no where near what the dealer actually paid. :doah:

I know the trade in values were low back then (this was about 4 years ago), but I didn't know they dropped to as bad as they are now.

High gas prices and a slow economy have made most dealer sales tank (except for motorcycles, hybrids, and high MPG cars)... truck sales themselves are really in the toilet right now.

Although compared to most of the junk out there on CL I think your rig would sell for ~$1700-2000 when the right buyer comes along. $2500 would be pushing it right now, but if your willing to sit on it the right buyer might still come along.

I updated the pics. There was is a guy that asked if I could snap a bunch of pics of it (lives farther up north and wanted more to go off of before driving down). I thought that I would link them here and update the old ones I had. These were taken about a day ago.

Man, I really hate it when people flake out. Thought I had it sold, but the guy who said he had the money really didn't. Turns out he was actually trying to get his girl friend to do a $2500 cash advance on one of her credit cards. The card has a $15k limit and it already has $12k in charges on it. :eek1: That is a very stupid idea in the first place let alone in times like these.

Long story short, it is still for sale. The grille and tail lights are back to stock though. I am not parting anything else off of it. Looks like I might have to keep it around anyway. Tough selling something like this right now. Everyone is scared to spend. I can understand though.

Sold the truck yesterday. I don't know weather to be happy or sad. :( Gonna miss her. It is going to a very nice couple that is moving to Texas in about a week. It went to a good home.
