I have two. One pulled from a local J-yard here in So Cal and another I bought as a back up plan if I couldn't get one local. It's from some other state I don't remember. The black one is from here. I pulled it apart, drill a couple holes and welded a couple nuts in place. There are a couple set screws there too.
The other one is untouched. It has surface rust all over it, but since I don't need any shafts anymore, I didn't bother sanding it off.
both have good joints. The black one needs a quick tap ran through the top nut. I don't have taps. I have the plastic spacers for the black one, they aren't on it, but I'll include them. For some reason I had a hard time sliding the male end back in with the spacers, so I gave up on it to work on my truck.

Or you can measure your old shaft (~21.5") and using a hammer or some kind of compression method, compress the xj shaft to that length once it's heated. Let cool and ur done.
