I bought this but never installed it. I do not have the cluster housing but do have the 3 wire harness for the tach.

I never used this myself so I am selling it in unknown, "as is" condition for $125 + freight.

Afaik, this is the last version of the tach. It's got the later model font like sweetk30 said but to be honest I've only seen a couple of '80+ tachs (as opposed to the older font) so I don't know about the redline area colors. This was supposed to have come out of an 81 truck.

i got one from an 83 that has no redline....1980 and newer trucks got that font regardless of what truck it came out of....

I'd say they are aboot the same age, in the 80s. The bottom one is out of a big truck, 80psi oil gauge and 240 temp gauges are giveaways.
