I am interested in every thing needed to do a swap. I am assuming the adapter wont work with a NP208? Also what motor is the flywheel from?

The Adapter won't work with the 208s I have here from th400s. Also I Don't know what engine was in the truck.

That is weird, they are supposed to work for a 205 or 208 from the same vintage.

My 208s are from 84-86 cucv trucks. The front 208 input looks a little shorter than the 205 I sold going by memory of course, not a tape. Maybe with a different adapter it would work:dunno:

I will have to look at them again, but I believe the 205 input is longer but the 208 also has the bearing retainer that is deeper might make it look shorter.
As long as there is enough engagement it probably will work.
I am hoping because I sold my 205's and the adapters didn't sell so i am hoping I can use them with the 208's I have that never sold.:D

I don't think you can use the 465/205 adapter with a 208--it is too long.
The 465/205 adapter is 10" long, whereas the 465/208 adapter is 8" long.
About the only thing different from factory one can do is to put a 465/208 adapter with a 205; requires grinding a relief for the shift rail, and since there is no boss for the shifter bolt, must rig up a cable type shift linkage; also must use the earlier style short 32 spline 205 input shaft. I did this for a guy in a CJ5, the extra 2 inches were very important.
