Swapped to a 454 Vortec. Harness worked on by 208TeamMotorsports. Now I'm ready to start hooking up the wiring so I can fire this K5 up.

On the new harness, there is a purple wire labeled for the starter solenoid. I also have a purple wire for the solenoid coming from the firewall.

Hook up both?

Where does the other end of the purple wire in new harness go? I would think that the original purple wire would go to the starter.

I think I figured it out.

When they rebuilt the harness, they routed the original solenoid wire near the old fuse box on the firewall. This is where I hook up the one coming out of the firewall from my ignition. They added a new piece and routed it down the harness near the new fuse box. That is the side that will hook up to the solenoid.

@Magikal told me to try and not overthink this. And that is exactly what I am doing. So much to do and very little time to do it.

Purple wire on a factory harness comes from the ignition switch, goes to the neutral safety switch, then exits the firewall and goes to the starter solenoid.
