Solo Wheelin' ?

I have never wheeled with another person ever, I never tell anyone where I am going. This may seem pretty stupid to some of you, but I can take care of myself, I do not live life fearing what could happen, I just live life.

There have been times it sure would of been nice to have another truck along with me, cell phone coverage sucks in places up here.

When my time comes, I would like for it to happen out in the woods, all by myself.

HARDASS

never been out alone that i can recall. i think i would get bored without another person to enjoy the wheelin with if you ask me. kinda the same thing as i find it more fun to have a couple friends in the truck with me even with the extra weight. i have a winch now so i can get away with a good bit more than before, but i still dont see myself hittin the trails without another rig, preferably a fullsize.

Most of my trips are alone or just with people riding with me. Mostly its to get to fishing spots down at the creek were there are always tons of people and if not there are plenty of people I know that will come lend a hand if I need it. I never do anything too extreme such as lifting tires, getting too off camber or deep mud holes alone. most of the places I go I have been to many times and know where I can and cannot go. I save the scary stuff for when I have friends.:D

I would say the question should be more like "Do you go prepared when you wheel?" For some trails, going with someone else would be part of being prepared. Other, less demanding runs, may mearly require self recovery and survival equipment. Having said that, I, and the other club members in our club, do not wheel alone; Alaska will kill you without any hesitation! That's not saying I haven't done, but as my wheeling experience has increased, so has my wisdom.
This is a good discussion! I would like to here more of the "don't wheel alone" people chime in.

Truthfully i've never realy been "wheeling" i've hit a couple of dryish holes on the way home and played on a dirt road that swallow some stock jeeps. before but no serious stuff. But everytime i've been alone, or with passengers.

Looking back im pretty lucky, I almost got stuck once b/c i was being stupid (backed down into ruts, which are in a lake) 2wd and stomped it. As expected the rearend sank, thank god for 4low, and the other half being dry.

I sometimes go solo on a trail but never nothing hairy. I find when I go with others I get provoked to do some obsticles I wouldn't normaly do. Dam Jeepers using Peer pressure on me. lol. Then I bust stuff up so solo can be fun. But I find I am the rescue rig, most people go wheeling in the night by themselves showing off their Jeeps to friends and girls. It never works for them too well when they have to phone me and they are sitting quietly in the woods awaiting the roar of the 350 mowing down the trail. HAHA DAM JEEPERS.
