10 Bolt & 12 Bolt need some attention.

How do you remove this bearing?

What is the seal on the back side of the hub called, the seal that holds the bearing inside of the hub? Just a hub seal?

Does the driver's side knuckle where the tie rod attached have more of an angle to it (pointing inward) than the passengers side? I notice that i have about 1/2" clearance from my tie rod end on the driver's side from the inner lip of the wheel vs. around 1/4" or so clearance on the passenger side.

My 12 bolt passenger side drum came off with no effort when I removed the wheel and pulled on it but I'm having a helluva time pulling the driver's side drum off, it's not really budging. The main reason for me pulling the drums is so that I can pull the axle shafts and replace some sheared off wheel studs.

I have a leak on my 12 bolt on the passenger side, I noticed fluid on the backside of the tire when I pulled it off and noticed large fluid spots on the drum too, when I pulled the drum it was all gooey and nasty inside where the springs and stuff are located at. Could this just be a bad axle seal that's letting fluid through the axle tube and into my brake components?

Could be a wheel cylinder too. Are you losing any brake fluid?

One sniff should let you determine if its gear oil or brake fluid!..if it smells like a rotten egg fart--its gear oil !..

Well I figured out how to get those spindle bearing out... I got a piece of rebar, ground one side down to an edge (kinda like a stake) and heated it up and bent it in my vice. Made a good punch and the bearings came out with a few whacks with the 3 lb. sledge.

I don't know much about drum brakes, as soon as I got my 14BFF I disc braked it. The fluid doesn't smell anything like gear oil, doesn't really smell at all. I did notice a lot of goo and buildup around the wheel cylinder so that may be the issue.

One more questing, when I seat the seal on the back of the front axle hubs is it supposed to sit flush with the surface/ lip/flange? I put some new ones in earlier and think I seated them too far, seems like they were squished up against that large hub bearing that is under them, looked to me like they might restrist the movement of the bearing and from looking at the spindle it looks like is should sit flush with the lip so that it will sit on the spindle properly.
