I just found this out and thught it would be a good idea to share it with yall. If you are installing an aftermarket tranny cooler, be very careful when you push the plastic ties through the radiator. If you have ac, i would recommend pushing them through the condensor. I put mine through the radiator, and in about 8 months, the plastic ties wore a hole in the core. I just got the radiator repaired, and got done putting it back in. Just a word of warning.

Yeah, those things scared me.

I cut up some aluminum angle and made brackets.

Far better to make your own brackets to mount the cooler to the core support. Those plastic ties have killed a lot of radiators and A/C condensers; I can't believe the manufacturers still put them in the cooler kits.

So the rubber hoses going to it aren't enough to hold it in place?/forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

I have them run through the condensor now, but I dont ever even use the ac. It isnt even charged, so I dont really care if it messes it up or not. It is a pretty stupid mounting design though.

Probably the brainchild of a replacement radiator company--talk about job security.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have to re-mount mine too,and run all new tranny lines--
