Ok, so they haven't been painted, mounted, or put on the truck yet but I'm too excited to not post up. :p:

Made a trip to Little Rock, Iowa today to the DIY 4x4 shop and picked up my beadlocks. I wasn't sure if I was in the right place until I saw the bright purple school bus outside. I got a chance to check out the shop crew cab and blazer project as well. Both extremely impressive vehicles and way too clean. The fab quality on the blazer was awesome and it has a few neat tricks that not many people have seen before.

I opted to have him do the welding since I don't trust my welds to hold air and I must say they're damn impressive. I'm going home presidents day weekend to paint 'em, mount 'em, and put them back on my truck. So what do you folks think, should I paint the rings orange or black?

Nope, standard black rims. :D I'm thinking about polishing the rings up a bit and clear coating them though, I love the look of raw steel, any thoughts???

oops thinking of the rig with the orange flames on a black truck:doh:

now who is that?

hummm i say maybe orange,do one up and sit it next to the truck and take a pic

Truck is black with red flames, all done in bedliner, orange beadlock rings. Can't remember the user name. IIRC we run the same rim/tire combo and have about the same stance too.

k5 newbie?

how about box those wheels up, send them to me, and ill decide what to paing them. fair enough?

hey Mike, what are those seats you have with the orange inserts?

blingin rims too... my initial thought would be orange rings.....

Seats are Jeg's plastic buckets with padded covers. They're pretty comfy the way it is but I'm gonna take a piece of thin foam and sew it to the back of the cover for a little extra padding on those long days.

Check this rim before it was welded up!

This was one of the moderately damaged wheels. Apparently Mikey wheels it pretty hard. :eek1: I had to swing a hammer!:haha:

Just hackin' on ya mike. Good to meet you and glad you could make it down to the shop. One of these days I might get my junk together and get to do some wheeling.:haha:

Haha, I was kinda hoping you took some before pics. I sat in the parking lot when I got back and went over the rims for a half hour and I still can't tell which one was the really bad one. Still don't know how you got 'em to look that clean. I've always been impressed by pictures of your work but they really don't do it justice.

Anyways, I'll be sure to put up a thread when I get them mounted up. Thanks again Kert, you'll definitely be hearing from me again and if you ever need a hand or a trailer (even though I'm sure you have plenty of both) let me know, your shop is actually closer to my dorm room than my own house is. :haha:

Good Job Kert, those rims were pretty beat up when i saw em to.

Id Say orange rims with black rings mikey, but make your bolts orange too
