Some people...

Quick is nice, but I feel they do not last anywhere near as long as the AC 60G's did.

I noticed the same thing and went away from the quick heats as well. I'd rather wait an extra 5 seconds to start and have the glow plugs last twice as long.

WOW! That's the most animosity I've seen over there:eek1: From two knowledgeable and usually very nice guys.:confused:

It's still the best site for military vehicles I've found.

I'm surprised you got that reaction.

I guess my telling them you are a Commie didn't help!:haha:

as an outsider reading through.........it sounds alot like guys playing mechanic that have no business doing do. seems like look I know averything about everything...just don't change a damn thing or I'll get ALL screwed up. and not know what I'm talking about.

thats gut reaction on reading it half assed through. sounds like a bunch of idiots.

It's a good place to go if you're trying to figure out your military spec widgit. It's THE place for deuce and a half trucks...

...but I only ask them about the military spec goodies on Big Ugly. Everything else I save for you guys. Had a guy on there tell me there was no reason to brace the frame around the steering box on Big Ugly. His justification was that the military maintenance manual didn't call for it.

I posted there about how much of a pain it is being to get my tires mounted, and got lectured about how it would take at least an hour to do the mounting (horse puckies, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes), that they're losing money on the tire sale (BS, shops mount tires that you didn't buy there all the time, it's their own damn fault if their prices aren't competitive) and how the tires could be worn, out of date, etc. (they're not, and it's a 5 minute check to inspect them and look at the date codes).

Ugh.

the shop i work at on the side we would mount whatever you wanted for 15 a tire, no matter what they look like........just sign you name and the shops not liable.. thats how we do it..

yea then they really wouldnt like me i did all sorts af alterations...lol

To be fair, one of the admins there has a Banks turbo'd, 6" Superlifted CUCV pickup.
