somekind of posi,or limited slip up front????

as i was climbing a pretty good size hill i snaged the wall i was goin up and broke my front axle but, i had all 4 tires spinning until my axle broke then i lost all four wheel drive. anybody have an idea what kind of limited slip or posi i have.cuz there was no action coming from the front after the one side broke????? i also have slugs in the front. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

u sure it was a shaft snapped? and maybe not the carrier/gears blew up?

i dont think so cuz when i turn the drive shaft by hand the i can see the two axles trying to turn the same direction

i guess i'll have to pull the cover to conferm, when i bought the truck it came on the guy said it was a trutrac. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

This is very typical of almost all limited slips. If you break a shaft it's even worse than having one of the tires completely off the ground, and most limited slips can't overcome that much of a difference in traction/resistance. The inner part of the broken shaft is probably spinning, but it's no longer connected to the tire.
