someone tell me how to hang a door straight.

did you take the door off the hinges or the hinges and door off the cab?

The right way to do it is with the fender off. that way you can get to all the bolts while the door is closed. set the gaps and then put your fender back on and set the gaps on it to the door.

now that's a cool idea! i can't do it tho because my sliders are welded to the front clip tho...

in anycase, the problem is actually that the PO cut out and welded the striker bolt back into the body in the wrong place... grrr..

if thats the case I would be happy with it if it latched. I know how to set gaps but you should see my woods truck  you can stick your finger in the door to fender gap. I fixed it by taking the door off.:D

After redoing my blue truck, I think the only way I would hang another door would be: to take the hinges off the cab, and hang the door on the wall. LOL gmc4cw said what I had to do, take the fender off. Then match the fender to the door, then to the hood, and the pillar. Gapping, and bondo I hate!

It's a lost art..... heavy collision is a crash course (pun intended)

Colby, go hunt around the body shop, I've posted on this at least a dozen times...

I remember reading somewhere: Get it almost tight, close it, then even the gap around the door using a prybar and something to cushion it. I just bolted mine up loose, they bang into place. :D
