unbelievable hesitation till i put the pedal past like half throttle. and it seems like there is no power especialy in the lower rpms seems to have power in the higher rpms though. what could it be?

sry bout that i shoulda been a lil more specific on what it is :-\ 87 chevy blazer tbi fuel injected had bad gas in it recently think it coulda partially plugged the old fuel filter cause it seems to wanna start to backfire and stuff if held at wide open throttle to long driving down the road trying to pass someone

well the filter was plugged but uhm nope it runs good in the higher rpms it shifts goes to low and bogs down gets higher runs great shifts again and bogs back down what is wrong???

Don't know about TBi, but my 75 did the exact same thing when the carb gasket went bad and I had a huge vacuum leak just below the carb. Might be something to check out.

I had the same symptoms and it turned out to be clogged cat converter. If it smells funny under the truck thats a good sign. I thought mine was fuel, then maybe trans, it was only the cats

well ive stripped the cat it was plugged changed plugs got the bad gas out changed fuel filter and it gots a brand new tbi gasket but it could be leaking

i think my timing is way off but i dont see how its running with how far it appears to be off... idk ... the timing mark is on the other side of the motor when running and as far as i know it hasnt slipped cause 0 is still top dead center

if your on the #1 plug wire then your 180 degrees out, i dont know if it is even possilble to drive like that. from what is seems it sounds like its running too hot. my big block is the same way. at about 180 degrees the throttle response and low end punch is good, once it warms up completely at about 210 (with 180 thremo.) it doenst run as good. pay close attention to your water temp gauge and flush your cooling system and get a new thermostat if it is getting hot. the reason i think it too hot is because you said it runs good cool.

if its not that, i know some fuel enjected vehicles have a throttle position sensor (TPS) and if it is off, then everything is off; including fuel input, timing, etc.

Mass air flow sensors also affect the way you engine runs with your characteristics, but again i dont know if you have one...

i wouldnt think itd run if it was 180 out though and its got like i think a 195 thermostat im putting my other 180 thermostat in it this weekend and i if that would be 180 out then why is the piston all the way up on number one when its at zero?
