I sent them a message saying I thought the truck must be a later year as I thought all 73's would be full convertible. I guess it is a 76ish Their response was strange. So they list it as a 73 just to get past emissions?

I sent this: I think all the 1973 Blazers were full convertibles from the windshield back. Mine has no door window frame either. Thanks PG

They responded: Ok You my be right, but on my DMV paper work is 1973....and we like it for smog reasons in calif,

Yeah, that there is very likely a 76+ with an earlier VIN. Which, in CA, means "Run, don't walk."

73-75 are the newer body style but are full convertible like yours.

Your right its actually 76 or later body. Its likely had the vins swapped with an older truck. The DMV doesn't make mistakes like that very often which leads me to believe something has been swapped. Its a pretty popular thing to do here in california and once its done and in the system (Your smogger vin is put on non-op and the smog exempt vin is brought up to current registration) then your set. Theres an inspection so its not something you can do half ass, in fact i believe its a felony to do so but kinda hard to get caught unless your a total idiot. Id buy it.

Not all 73-75s are full convertible, apparently some people like to go the other way.

Oh hush. We're talking factory here and I didn't want to muddy the waters.

Plus that one is better done than that Bondo-ridden booger-welded hack job you linked to. [For the OP, my '74 has been modified to half-cab, but it was a cut and weld job and did NOT come from the factory that way. I know because I did the cutting and welding :D ]

Someone needed to stir the water and muddy it up.
And just for the record no one specifically said from the factory, it was just implied. :D

I say hermaphrodite body swap. New body old front clip, old frame. Mix and match salvage yard fenders etc. Macco or earl scheib body work. Not horrible needs some touching up and a lift......

Yep...the amber turn lenses became clear lenses in 1975
