So what do you guys listen to these days to "show off" your audio systems?

Last time we did this, someone suggested "St. Germaine - What You Think About" to me.... I got a copy of that song and like it quite a bit and would like to find some more "similar" stuff.

Also, I finally bought my first Pantera song off iTunes (I'm a little slow in getting to the Pantera party! :D )...it was that song "Psycho Holiday" and I liked that one too....any suggestions on a complete Pantera album I should buy? You know.....what most people would call THE album you need to own? Most bands have a single album that stands out like that....

That's all I'm posting up, I just wanted to get another one of these threads going....I always end up finding some new music I like once everyone posts their favorites. :thumb:

I still like Linkin Park. "Lying from you" is a good song for showing off your system.

I guess this is my "Test CD." Just a compilation I made, but if all this plays well then I consider things to be pretty tight.

Primus: My name is mud
DJ Magic Mike: Feel the Bass
Collective Soul: Simple
Emmylou Harris: Time in Babylon
Morphine: Have a lucky day
Beastie Boys: Son of Neckbone
Alison Krauss: Down to the river to pray
Butthole Surfers: Pepper
Apotheosis: O Fortuna
Yngwie Malmsteen: Beethoven's 5th

here's the last one i made.... :D

Linkin Park and the whole techno/rock thing does really well when you wanna blow people away. Otherwise I use angry rock that's has lots of mid.

The only Pantera album I'm not a fan of is "reinventing the steel" -- worst album of theirs. anything else and you'll be damn glad you got it.

Shock the Monkey by Coal Chamber with Ozzy is another good song for checking out what your stereo can do. Great highs as well as good lows.

Slightly Stoopid - Ese Loco

It's a pretty funny song and it will test your system as it transforms from a smooth base line to a punk style song and back again.

They have a new CD out as well that's pretty good if you like Reggae/Ska/Punk/Rock.

I ended up buying a "Best Of" Pantera CD....gave me a good flavor for the type of stuff the band does.

Also bought an "import only" version of St. Germaine...That recommendation turned out to be a bit more on the obscure side, but fortunately Amazon.com came through with all sorts of new & used options...

Bought a few other obscure titles recently on eBay:

Spread Eagle
Kick Axe

Kinda like glam-rock 80s music, but impossible to find except as imports.

It's all on the iPod now :D

Linkin Park, Crossfade, Nickelback, Metallica, Trapt, Saliva, Van Halen, Hinder, HIM, Pantera, Disturbed, Korn, Guano Apes(okay only one of their songs), AC/DC, Bullet For My Valentine. I listen to plenty of other harder rock, and alots of alternative stuff.

If Im goin for loud and good sounding in my Blazer its generally Linken Park, Crossfade or Nickelback.

although it never sounds great, drivers door speaker works when it wants, passenger front door speaker works good, two speakers in the back doors are blown or about to blow and crackle to beat hell sometimes. Then being the wise soul that I am I have a 8 inch Bazooka tube...which acutally adds some nice base to the whole works but its gotta be pretty loud to get it to work well.

After my K10 is goin Im looking at replacing all my doors speakers with good ones and just mounted them on panels themselves, a new head unit or just get mine fixed. and put my 12 in JL Subs that Ive had for 3 year in it finally

Whatever happened to sir-mix-a-lot and beastie boys? Those are what everyone used back in the day. Now I'm feeling old...
