It looks like Hurricane Michelle may give me a chance to find out if my K5 can also amphibious. The grocery stores are packed here and the tourists are starting to leave early. The world championship offshore boat races are here this week and many teams that are out of the lead are leaving early. I got 40 gallons of gas for the generator, several cases of beer and an extra bottle of vodka and rum for the pending hurricane party. I'm not sure if I want the storm to miss or not but I will keep everyone posted!

I guess Storm Trooper didn't pick the right week to go to Florida on vacation, eh?

Yeah I hope that all the members in the SE are all safe and will remain so. It seems like the nasty tropical storm/hurricanes are just something you learn to deal with down there... I guess much like eathquakes out west and tornados here in the mainland (in Tornado alley mostly).

Good luck to tall... hope you are all safe.

We get Tornados down here too. Nuttin like a twirling wind just deciding to drop out of the sky!!! I sent an Email to Storm Trooper to try to meet up but I never heard from him.

Its looking like Michelle will miss me up here in Central Fla, but Chris is in for pounding, down in the Keys. Good luck down there!

It looks like the worst is going to miss us. They ordered the evacuation of ALL residents but I am a stubborn former Texas redneck and I love nothing more than ignoring such orders. Last night was an excellent night. The rain was just starting and all tourists had left. The resulting pre-hurricane party was awesome. Just a bunch of locals with nothing better to do than drink since all the businesses are closed and only a few "locals" bars were open. Great time. I loaded up today on beer, gas for the generator, canned goods and a few batteries. Hell, I even treated the K5 to a tank full of Super Unleaded! I'll keep everyone posted. I just got back from the best hurricane party I have ever attended. Margaritaville closed except
for a few locals that are "good friends" and Miami Channel 7 filmed LIVE from there for their
"between stories" clips. A few shots of my K5 were transmitted all over South Florida and a
few select FOX stations nationwide. The storm is going to miss us and that is good for the
damage perspective.....but for the fun perspective, the goal was missed. It may be sadistic but
hurricanes here are legendary and the locals all come together to take care of each other and to
have the maximum amount of fun. Life will take at least 5 days to get back to normal but we
had a good time while it lasted. Steve, K5PUREINSANITY, I wish more K5's were down
here, but I am glad I can represent the group at the Southermost Point - Everyone is welcome
down here - give me some warning and I'll set up a great weekend. I may be even be able to
get some great rates at the hotel I work at. The rain is still comming down but all is well!

Trying to reason with Hurricane Season!!!!
