Getting ready to put some aftermarket sound deading in. So we all know dynamat is the standard that we all compare to. So what else is out there that's good, that you all have used? Fatmat, Hushmat, Koolmat,Second skin,Brown Bread, etc, etc, or roofing peel and seal. Lots of choices. What's the easiest to use? Cheapest? Best?

I used stuff from Eastwood. It worked fine but only on the flat surfaces due to some dripping of the black tar filling when used on the verticals like fire wall and inside the doors.

on tv garage squad they used some ac heating duct wrap as car insulation got at a local hardware store way cheaper than any other stuff. it comes in 20 foot roles for about 20 bucks. maybe check that out save some money.

This is what I used in my V8 Miata. It's called Reflectix. It's basically aluminum faced bubble wrap. Definitely helped with heat and noise for cheap. Cut with scissors or razor knife, duct tape in place and drop carpet or rubber mat back on top of it. Going to do it on my CUCV when I get ahold of a rubber cab mat sometime. I have bare metal floors now and they get hot and the 6.2 is a bit noisy.

The stuff they used had self adhesion backing for heat ducts. They have it at honedepot.

looks like I have some options. how is this stuff holding up long term? i kind of was leaning towards the fatmat. but now i don't know.

Has anyone looked into that Lizard Skin coating?

Or just felt like the OEM Trucks use?

I was thinking the felt with LMC rubber flooring, I am not a fan of the fatmat type of material, I die cut adhesive, and rubber , and slit the aluminum, my thoughts are if no there is trans adhesive is on the rubber compound and most automotive types use a adhesive that called VHB #3M grade, what is going to keep the rubber compound from peeling off? the alum side should be a min of .002 thick or more and be reinforced with webbing to stop any tearing, but thats me and my thoughts , I hear some love that stuff, I just dont want to go back in a few years and have to redo every thing

I have heard great things about the lizard skin. But I thought you put that on the outside of the cab....

Good post, lots of info there. Much more then I need at this point. But it will put me in the right direction.

I gather its all about cost and how you will cover it, I've also looked into a therm o rubber, they shoot it like line X I was not just thinking under the Blazer but all inside the Blazer ,doors, side panels and flooring, only bitch is that its thick up to 1/2?" but I was quoted $400 bucks inside and outside
