Sound system and bench seat questions

I have 6.5" speakers in my doors and I customized (took an angle grinder to, and drilled) the inner dash to fit 4x6 speakers. Im going to replace the 6.5s for 6x9's just for a bit better forward mids and lows. But the set up now isnt too bad except for the subs. I have two old school 10" Orien Xtremes in seperate ported boxes. They had a crappy amp going to them, which I replaced with another crappy, but still better amp, and it made a huge difference. The boxs takes up a lot of room. The seat isnt all the way forward but its def not all the way back. Im 5'6" and I sit very upright. But then my boxes are huge and ported. One quality 10 with a quality amp is all you need. You dont have to go overboard but you cant cheap out here because of space limitations. But if you really really think that you cannot fit a box back there because of your height you may want to consider a bazooka tube. I know, I know, they never were that great. The only reason I am recomending it is because a friend of mine has one in his 95 regular cab and it sounds really decent. Really decent. It wont win you and dB contests but you can put the seat back some, have some room behind the seat for some crap, and its way better than not having any lows at all.

Well I was laying in bed last night and thought about this.

I get a nice 10 or 12, then slap it in a box in the middle of the bench seat, but to make it fit snug and so i'd be able to have the seat back, I could remove a chunk from the back of the seat. Hope that's understandable. lol

ive done speaker enclosures that fit directly under the seat. the box was built around the seat stands while the seat was out. everything was bolted to the seat frame then bolted back in. only problem with this is the bad vibration you get on your backside. can you say chair massage:wink1:

lol...well that doesn't sound too bad...There should definitely be room under there. I'll just have to experiment i guess.
