Hi guys, I haven't been here in a few years, hell I haven't driven a Chevy in 6 years. Anyway I have been living in New Mexico for the last 6 years or so and I see all these trucks, and some cars, with an ultra wide stance and without fender flares. My qusetion is how do they get that width? Is it the offset of rims? Or do they all use spacers? ( I used spacers on my 'burban rear to catastrophic results, and I definitely had them torqued correctly) I love the look and would like to do this to my truck ( if I can ever afford one) while I'm here where it's apparently legal and when I move back to Maryland I will custom up some flares. That will look wild too.

It’s easier on some trucks than others but there are tons of wheel options just for that look. It’s mostly picking the right dimensions.

It doesn't matter whether you use a wheel with more offset or a spacer, the strain on bearings and ball joints is the same and the vehicle looks much stupider.

They're called bro-dozers these days. But believe it started back several decades ago - grew out of the hispanic low riders. They went to wide, deep offset in the 80's and 90's round here. Then into trucks which morphed into the modern bro-dozer...

LOL Points taken. Think I'll stick to reliable bearings. And fewer chipped windshields. No surprise on the origins, I'm in a desert town 30 miles north of the Palomas border crossing. And looking forward to that long drive back where the hell I came from as soon as I can afford it.

Not to mention, it will handle like $hit on the road.

And it will have a larger turning radius. Typically these will be done with really low profile tires, so it will ride like crap.
